Cool,

White peony inhibits the 5 alpha reductase enzyme (from the conversion to DHT) in the sebaceous glands, which produces sebum. Sebaceous glands are bunched around the areolas, a topical solution would work too, imo. But, I'd add a pro-aromatase, pro-ERa like red clover. I've done this before and blew up my areolas. Rolleyes

Thanks Elaine, good to hear from you. Big Grin

I think lemon and orange peel could work too, try it. Big Grin the fact they inhibit DHT (CYP17 inhibitor) makes sense too.

In addition, the levels of serum insulin, glucose and leptin were significantly improved by lemon polyphenols, thereby improving the insulin resistance. We suggest that a supplementation with lemon polyphenols may prevent or improve obesity and insulin resistance by modulating lipid metabolism and preventing metabolic syndrome as a representative, lifestyle-related cluster of diseases caused by an excessively high fat diet.

spironolactone inhibits dihydrotestosterone receptors in human sebaceous glands: an autoradiographic study in subjects with acne vulgaris.

Author information

Abstract
The interaction between spironolactone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) receptors was evaluated with an autoradiographic technique. The inhibition of DHT receptors by spironolactone was found to be related to the decrease of tritiated DHT granules in the sebaceous glands of the treated site. 6 male patients affected by acne vulgaris entered the study. The acute study was performed by applying to 25 cm2 of the back a cream containing 5% spironolactone under occlusive dressing. The dosage of spironolactone applied was 4 mg/cm2 for 48 h. The long-term study was performed by applying the same amount to the entire back, without occlusion, twice daily for 1 month. Skin biopsies were taken at the end of the treatment, incubated with tritiated DHT and processed for autoradiography. Both the acute and the long-term study revealed a decrease of the autoradiographic granules in the treated site. This effect is related to the binding of spironolactone with dihydrotestosterone receptors in the sebaceous glands. Our study demonstrates that 5% topical spironolactone cream acts as an antiandrogen in human sebaceous glands, competing with DHT receptors and producing a decrease of labelled DHT. At the concentrations used the effect has been only local. No side-effects were recorded during both studies.

Even if you don't have pimples there, it could work. (Does for me).

The other day I had a familiar site I hadn't seen in a few years, a white ring on the bottom of the areola. Others have had this and could never figure out what it was.........

I believe it's an indication of breast milk flooding into the bottom of the areola, although not directly too the nipple. In my case I've seen secretion through the areola, I have no idea why expect for this explanation.
This is something I just found by accident, I am going to order some, you can buy it under the name Vidanga which is the Sanskrit name, a well known Ayurvedic plant, it is called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embelia_ribes

Quote:Extract of E. ribes showed effective inhibition of 5α-
reductase resulting in higher residual levels (40 %) of
testosterone at 125 μg /mL and 56 % at 500 μg /mL.
However, T. chebula, T. bellerica and V. negundo
showed lower inhibition resulting in lower levels of
residual testosterone (13-26 % at 125 μg /mL and 17-40
% at 500 μg /mL). Dutasteride exhibited an inhibition of
5α-reductase similar to that of E. ribes at concentration
of 2 mM (1056 μg /mL).
Thus of all the plants
investigated here, extract of E. ribes was found to be the
most potent inhibitor of type I 5α-reductase.
The inhibition of 4-androstenedione production in
presence of varying concentration of plant extracts after
24 h is shown in Fig. 3. All the plant extracts inhibited
the production of 4-androstenedione significantly (76-87
%) at concentration of 500 and 1000 μg /mL. E. ribes
inhibited the production of 4-Androstenedione by 57 %
at a concentration of 125 μg/mL whereas it exhibited 87
% inhibition at a concentration of 1000 μg/mL. E. ribes
showed significant reduction (87 %) in the production of
4-Androstenedione at (1000 μg /mL) which indicated
significant inhibition of 5α-reductase. Dutasteride
showed 98 % inhibition of 4-Androstenedione
production at concentration of 2 mM (1056 μg /mL). The
above results indicated that extract of E. ribes was the
most potent inhibitor of 5α-reductase with IC 50 value of
100 μg /mL as against other plant extracts which showed
IC 50 values in the range of 260-360 μg /mL as shown in
Table 2.

CONCLUSION
The present study is an attempt to find novel type I 5α-
reductase inhibitors. Earlier investigations of type I 5α-
reductase inhibitors include use of plant extracts such as
Saw palmetto, Pygeum africanum, Artocarpus incisus,
Thujaorientalis, 25 Laminaria
saccharina, Salviaofficinalis,
Thymus officinalis, Arnica Montana, Mentha
piperita and Rosamarinus officinalis 26 . These
experimental results indicated that methanolic extract of
E. ribes was a potent inhibitor of type I 5α-reductase and
had antimicrobial activity against P. acnes and S.
epidermidis may be sufficient to control acne vulgaris.
This study revealed that extracts of Embelia ribes, Vitex
negundo, Terminalia chebula and Terminalia bellerica
could be used in herbal formulations as an alternative
treatment for acne

Cool, you're dailed in on this, I will enjoy reading it. But the preliminary indications (imo) is that's it's more than just a dual (type 1 and type 2) Inhibitor, meaning it also inbitis C17 in the sebum (via the sebaceous gland),

great stuff. Thanks Big Grin

That is interesting idea. I thought it just meant more branching of Montgomery Glands or the tissue that makes up the breast buds. Rolleyes
Son of a gun, or (SOB)........I was right Rolleyes modifying genes does promote (advance) GID symptoms..... Clearly, this does give weight why we see a progression of guys wanting boobs to the decision of transitioning, and it ties to inhibiting CYP17, you know, the enzyme upstream where testosterone synthesis begins.

The CYP17 MspA1 Polymorphism and the Gender Dysphoria.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION:
The A2 allele of the CYP17 MspA1 polymorphism has been linked to higher levels of serum testosterone, progesterone, and estradiol.
AIM:

To determine whether the CYP17 MspA1 polymorphism is associated with transsexualism.

METHODS:
We analyzed 151 male-to-female (MtF), 142 female-to-male (FtM), 167 control male, and 168 control female individuals. Fragments that included the mutation were amplified by PCR and digested with MspA1. Our data were compared with the allele/genotype frequencies provided by the 1000 Genomes Data Base, and contrasted with a MEDLINE search of the CYP17 MspA1 polymorphism in the literature.

MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:
We investigated the association between transsexualism and the CYP17 MspA1 polymorphism.

RESULTS:
A2 frequency was higher in the FtM (0.45) than the female control (0.38) and male control (0.39) groups, or the MtF group (0.36). This FtM > MtF pattern reached statistical significance (P = 0.041), although allele frequencies were not gender specific in the general population (P = 0.887). This observation concurred with the 1000 Genomes Data Base and the MEDLINE search.

CONCLUSION:
Our data confirm a sex-dependent allele distribution of the CYP17 MspA1 polymorphism in the transsexual population, FtM > MtF, suggestive of a hypothetical A2 involvement in transsexualism since the allele frequencies in the general population seem to be clearly related to geographic origin and ethnic background, but not sex.
