Yesterday I spect the day at a Native American Pow Wow in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Our leaves are starting to change here and it was a beautiful day. The temperature was 82° and a beautiful blue sky.
I’d never been at such an interesting ceremony before. There were representatives of several tribes present and it was neat to be immersed in the spirituality of it all. That probably made the biggest impression on me.
My neighbor has been hosting these events for close to 30 years and it was the first time I’d ever attended one. It was neat. I went to take photos of the participants, and I’m really glad I did.
All total, I walked close to three miles according to the health app on my phone. The event was held at a beautiful wooded park, and most of that walking was up & down hills. I’m absolutely exhausted this morning because it wasn’t just a simple long walk, but my camera weighs eight pounds and I carried it all day around the park shooting portrait photos of the participants.
My camera is a Pentax 6x7 Medium Format 120 Film Camera that takes the most beautiful portraits. I left the event yesterday and made a bee line to the photo lab in my hometown. While I got there in plenty of time to get the negatives developed, the owner was working on the developer and the processing will have to wait until Monday.
So, hopefully all that exercise will have a positive impact on my NBE. I didn’t sleep well last night for some reason. I zonked out at 10:21pm right after I sent a text and for some reason woke up at 2:46am. My feet & legs are killing me this morning and typically so are my arms from carrying that heavy camera around all day.
Hopefully everyone is doing well and are able to enjoy this wonderful time of year.
