someone runs a test posts his results and then someone else duplicates the test and finds if the first tester is right or wrong.

stating someone else's opinion is not science!

double bind testing YES copying a advertisement NO

Double blind only matters for testing the effects of a given substance. It doesn't matter when it comes to testing the composition of a plant. You run it through a few specialized machines and maybe pull out a good 'ol slide and microscope and you know what's in it.

Note that Dr Duke's is outdated on some of its information and if you go do further research most of the things it has as "estrogenic" have been in further testing proven false positives, they only SEEMED estrogenic due to their interactions with other pathways in the steroidogenesis. And in isolation. When combined... The interactions start changing.

I did learn something new though about fenugreek's potential as an anti-androgen. That's a LOT of coumarin it's got. Oh, and coumarin is VERY dangerous, and WON'T go anywhere with boiling. Most of the most dangerous chemicals in the plant aren't going anywhere with boiling.

You'll definitely lose quite a bit of the positives though.

Actually. If you aren't completely hoaxing us, and I'm still not convinced you aren't, that coumarin could have played a very big part in what happened.

And if you are for real, then I have misjudged you... Attributed far more intelligence than you actually possess. You really are just a dumb fuck.

Mega dosing yourself with something you know nothing about just on the presumption that it's perfectly safe because common herblore says so.... When common herblore would NEVER employ such doses. Yeah. That's the definition of dumb fuck.

The amount of coumarin you'd've taken in... You're damned lucky you didn't kill yourself. Damn Darwin. He failed us this time.

For comparison. In common herblore you're not to take more than 3 doses of 1.2 grams a day. Or 3.6 grams. You took TEN grams a day. For two and a half days. That's 25 grams. That's a lot dude. I REALLY AM surprised you didn't kill yourself from all that coumarin.

Coumarin by itself isn't very dangerous to humans except in high quantities. It is a precursor to dangerous substances, but none of those are in FG. At the levels found in FG, if you fear it, you should also avoid strawberries, apricots, and cherries. And probably quite a few other fruits and vegetables too. And perfumes. And some liquors. And cinnamon. Heck, you might as well listen to OSB and start boiling it to try to increase the potency of the bad stuff by eliminating good content and concentrating the bad.

Yes i am a DUMB FUCK and the more i learn the more i realize just how stupid i am! But learning is fun. Every new thing i learn and understand is as exciting as hell.
Presently i can walk outside look at the clouds , and its like seeing them for the first time.
It feels like i have the mind of a child. i can look at at a butterfly and the excitement is painful.
---------------------------------
Great i see you understand just how much i took!
But i removed the toxins first!
I monitored blood pressure, heartbeat temperature.
There were absolutely no systems of anything.
I was like i took nothing.
Which to me was a successful test- remove the toxins and i could consume a massive amount of the drug with no harmful effects-
\---------------------------

If we can make these plants safe for human consumption by removing there harmful elements then i will have succeeded.

The purpose of my testing is not to grow tits but to find a way to consume these marvelous plants for our benefit.

I am doing what herbalists have been doing for centuries.

they recommend making tea- I am just trying to take it to a higher level.

Use creative thinking - like i do!
Try to see all of the possible solutions to any problem.
Don't convince yourself that you know the truth.

WE are human and humans are so feeble minded that we will never know the truth about anything.

...Wow AbiDrew! That's the longest post I've ever seen here. You're the coolest geek I know Smile

I don't mean for this to sound like I'm taking sides - I don't have the time to read the whole discussion and pick a side - but I'm really glad you're here on Breast Nexus. I'm glad you take the time to look into and read all the gobbledygook (chemical analysis of herbs etc) and translate it into layman's terms for the rest of us.

Actually they are beginning to change their minds on just how high coumarin itself can get before it starts getting nasty.

Coumarin-derived drugs are, yes, much more potent and even more dangerous.

Though normally I would agree. Even at 5 grams of fenugreek a day I wouldn't really be too concerned. But at 10? I think it could start getting a bit interesting. This is, I'll admit, opinion. But it's an opinion that's based on studies being done even as we type.

In food and as a supplement or even both, I would be highly surprised if ANYONE (except clowns who actually follow what this OSB clown says) takes even so much as 5 grams of fenugreek in a day.

So no, I'm not warning anyone away from fenugreek. It really is quite safe usually. But the way OSB claims to have used it and wants others to? Not so sure that's as safe.

I give up!

I copy pasted because it is not possible to direct link to any part of Duke's database. The software used on server end autogenerates every single page from the database, thus a direct link would result in either garbage or bump you back to the query page.

When it comes to a database of plants and their chemical compositions, I have not found a more complete database than Duke's. Though the activities reported for some chemicals and compounds are a little outdated it still makes a great starting point to research a plant from.

Not sure why I hadn't noticed the coumarin content in fenugreek last time I researched fenugreek. Probably just overlooked it because it wasn't what I was interested in about the plant. It'd be very complicated to use FG for coumarin though due to the activities of its even more prevalent compounds.

And yes. Though I'd warn most people away from coumarin it's exactly something I'd love. The very reason I'd warn most away is the very reason I'd want it. It's a VERY potent selective androgen blocker all by itself. Blocks testosterone production from androsteniodone. Coumarin-derived drugs do many other things and can become extremely dangerous for EVERYONE, but as an anti-androgen, I think coumarin itself is overlooked a bit much.

Though it does display some activity on the 11-beta-HSD pathway as well, which messes with the whole aldosterone and cortisol pathways again. It's not near as potent there as the major constituent in licorice. It's about even with the most common prescribed anti-androgen in the us, in almost every activity it displays. That drug being spironolactone. Spiro has even more activities though...

You know. Despite my bit of, yes, gasp, exaggeration above, which was meant to help illustrate a point I'm trying to make but OSB seems too stupid to understand... Those doses shouldn't be too toxic for a short burst. Maybe three days. Maybe next month instead of my usual ramp up to 6 capsules in the morning only on my pseudo ovulation day I'll ramp up to approximate these insane doses.

If it makes any differences I'll let you know. I really don't expect it to.

Since I'm also much more familiar with how my body behaves under the influence of certain hormones I should also be able to say with fairly good certainty WHY it happens if it does.

The one thing I am certain of though is that it is not directly estrogenic.

Oh, and it's not anything in PM that's addictive. PM is not addictive. It CAN cause a great deal of distress for a macho male who ends up using it for whatever reason. It's the feminizing effects that are addictive for those who are in some way transgendered. How much so depends probably on where they are on the spectrum and perhaps other factors.

I really don't care what my estrogen source is. If I hear of a better one tomorrow I'll gladly start researching it and when my PM runs dry I'll switch. In fact I've BEEN on the hunt for a way to produce my own. So far nothing has fully satisfied me as fitting the requirements.
