Anti-Androgens

Lotus, love your posts, but I feel blinded by science after reading all that. Can you translate for the layman (or woman!) please?

Also, which is best, white peony or reishi? Thanks for the link, but that page doesn't really explain which would be best to take.

Finally, what's this about sperm? Should we all be swallowing our own to help our programs?!

Noooo, that study isn't suggesting drinking the stuff, neither am I, lol. Rolleyes It has to do more with why aromatase is present in the little guys, I'll share more later and how it might help benefit NBE.

Reishi and WP are used for two different purposes, WP is for converting free testosterone to estradiol (estrogen) through an enzyme called aromatase. Relish is used for controlling DHT through another enzyme called 5 alpha redutase, and DHT is the strongest androgen.

If you have less interest in porn than its a good indicator that DHT is being controlled, also less competition with others.

On the other things I've described I'll attempt to translate as best as I can. Big Grin

Thanks for your quick reply, Lotus! Glad I've not got to start drinking that!

OK, looks like I need both then. Have just ordered 300 caps of reishi from eBay. Anyone know of a UK stockist for white peony?

PS Lotus, is saw palmetto a waste of time in terms of NBE?

I wouldn't say a waste of time, money maybe, although it's definitely your choice of which NBE products to use. Amazon is usually competitive on products and shipping fees.

Regards to some new NBE tools (heck, throw in HRT while we're at it).

Although this research is out there, protocol's exist for a reason, safety is at the top of the list. So check with your medical professional first, get labs done and see if your healthy first and foremost.

The first thing I would say and its current wisdom that estrogen is present in the following tissues (adipose, kidney, thymus/immune system, skin, gut and muscle), so they're common targets of estrogen. The following is from posted research.

In males, testosterone is the major source of plasma estradiol, the main biologically active estrogen, only 20% of which is secreted by the testes. Plasma estrone, 5% of which is converted to plasma estradiol, originates from tissue aromatization of, mainly adrenal, androstenedione.

The plasma concentration of estradiol in males is 2-3 ng/dl and its production rate in blood is 25-40 μg/24 h; both of these values are significantly higher than in postmenopausal women. Plasma levels of estradiol do not necessarily reflect tissue-level activity as peripherally formed estradiol is partially metabolized locally; thus, not all enters the general circulation, with a fraction remaining only locally active

If I'm losing anybody, please speak up.

So target tissues only represent a small percentage of estradiol production, where the attention (focus) needs to be on is the promoters.

Testes for starters.

Estrogen’s presence in the male reproductive system has been known for over 60 years, but its potential function in the epididymis (situated on top of the testes, see previous illustration) remains an important area of investigation.
