I would think facial hair removal is more important, let's say even if you could afford FFS (which many can not) what then?, you're still left with that battle. My concern is we're putting too much emphasis on looks, it's the inner beauty that makes a person.

What do we say to those who will never be able afford such surgeries?, better luck next time?, your outcome is bleak, or you'll never understand what it truly means to be female?.

Who gets to decide where the bar is set?, even worse........who keeps moving it lol.

I'm not knocking the decision to change ones shell. No, I don't feel left out either. I will however agree, to each their own and pray for successful outcomes.

Thanks Lotus There is a method to this madness... Thats why I started laser and electro before I even went on HRT.... YES thats huge right there... You cant expect to really go "full time" with a beard you gotta shave and try to cover up all the time

It helps to have some thick skin thats for sure BUT I also think a realistic look at whats possible and what you can and cant live with is essential when making a decision like this from the start.... Its HARD to not have envy and jealousy towards those that are more fortunate with genetics or resources... It sure aint cheap either!!!

One thing I am quite sure of, there isn't a category for my gender variance, and for now I'm just cisgender (hang on, lol), it goes like this: MTFTM, although I'm not naive enough to think I'm the only one with this variance. So female outside (no to makeup/heels/dress etc) keep the dude inside, present as a guy and no changes to my male indentity, confused?, so are shrinks. I'm not looking to pick a fight either, you know how I feel about you.

Well congrats there, If I wasnt so sacred of going so far away for mine Id go with him I like the fact that he can get it done without genital electrolysis, OUCH!!! FUCK THAT!!!! Ive also seen a lot of positive reveiws of his work lately but Im always skeptical of BS on the net

Brassard claims to be able to get it done without that too but all of the USA docs want you to do it... That to me sounds worse than the actual SRS I dont want nobody poking around down there for 6 months KNOCK MY ASS OUT and get it over with and I'll deal with the aftermath, thanks Im comfortable with Brassard and his team though because he does have a good track record

As far as "passing" goes, its just something that has to take time I think... Once the physical part happens the mind is a whole new battle that unfortunately for me anyway doesn't come completely from within but from external validation....

Yea I've "trapped" more than a few guys It starts to suck after a while though Eventually the world around you just starts to treat you as a woman no matter how your even going about things though and It amazes me

My issue is getting to the point I dont even think about this shit so much AND eventually more comfortable with the stuff I want to keep from my old life and integrating everything

I just saw a piece of a video on YT where this woman is being interviewed and her voice is MUCH deeper than yours!! In another part of the same video, a MAN is being interviewed and, you're not looking at him, you'd SWEAR it was a woman talking!! So, don't be TOO hard on your voice!! It's fine! :-)

Hey I donno if its just the time on the hormones making my mind more fem, or that Im just more focused on voices now... I tune in on things most people wouldn't even think of or notice... I just hear females talk and I want to sound like that and mine just isnt where I want it, its still too low Yes I can also hear some guys that have a higher pitched voice than I do

The info he has on smokers there is spot on... As a former heavy smoker I feel like even though Ive quit for more than 4 months now it has hindered my results... I had a VERY deep voice pre op though and now Im centered around 180-190hz... Im 2 1/2 months post op and I should be hearing my final result soon...

Honestly Im kinda disappointed, I feel like its still too deep :cry: Im waiting on a call from Dr Spiegel today to discuss my upcoming surgery and my plans for a trachea shave... Mine is really not that bad but I understand my face/neck lift will possibly make it much more visible... Im worried about it making my voice deeper though Im going to ask him for his opinion on doing a CTA in addition to what Ive already had done... He is an ENT too so Im also wondering if there's anything he thinks he could do while he's in there.... One thing about having a CTA that scares me is the scar on my throat If Dr S could do it and put the incision higher up on my chin Id probably go for that...

I donno in about two weeks I will have my 3 month post op consult with Dr Haben and see what he thinks about it and hopefully discuss any further surgical options to tweak it a bit higher... Ideally he could do it endoscopic with a laser...

Im also considering a consult with Dr Thomas in Oregon to see what he says and see if he could get me up to 200-210 hz with an endoscopic laser treatment like this...
