Would you ever be willing to meet someone, from this forum, in person, in a public setting, if you happened to live close to them or happened to be passing through their area? Or, would you be willing to text message or talk directly via phone?

Yes, I would like to meet others on this forum.

I think text messaging would be a good start for me. For those worried about sharing their phone number, one option would be to sign up for Google Voice. There's no charge to do so and you can text for free.

You just have to be so 100% sure you dont link up with a nutter or the rather clever troll that is still stalking here

Perhaps communicating via webcam using Skype first would help mitigate the risk of meeting a psycho or a troll?
