Hi again
Many thanks for all the contributions and the information - it looks like amazon.com has a better range of things than amazon.co.uk, which is the one I use - since I`m in the UK.
I note the comment by Lotus that lessening DHT and increasing aromatisation is quite an effective way to go for boobie growth - looking at some M-to-F trans websites, it looks as if taking Finasteride and oestrogen is one of the common ways that is administered by the medical world - Finasteride is like Saw Palmetto, in that it inhibits the 5 alpha reductase enzyme.
So going for Saw Palmetto and aromatisation is the same strategy.
I have been doing a bit more digging into inhibiting the conversion of T to DHT - one of the things I found is that there are two types of 5 alpha reductase - type 1, and type 2.
Wikipedia had a casual off-the-cuff reference to a type 3, but I have not seen it anywhere else.
Type 1 is found mostly in the non-genital skin and the liver, whilst type 2 is found in the prostrate, the male genital skin ( particularily in the glans ), the liver, and scalp hair follicles.
I haven`t found anything that suggests whether the DHT produced by type 1 5 alpha reductase is the same as the DHT produced by the type 2 5 alpha reductase, or whether it is different.
However it is interesting to note that the different means of inhibiting 5 alpha reductase don`t all do the same thing - so for example -
Saw Palmetto inhibits type 1 and type 2.
Green tea inhibits type 1.
GLA might inhibit type 1 and type 2, but there are some differences of opinion about this on different websites.
Just as a comparison, Finasteride mostly inhibits type 2, with only a small effect on type 1.
Dutasteride inhibits type 1 and type 2, so is regarded as considerably more powerful than Finasteride.
There are several more plant based substances that also inhibit 5 alpha reductase, but I haven`t really got to grips with them.
So all this somewhat confirms that Saw Palmetto can be a valuable constituent in herbal breast enlargement.
I don`t think I can buy pharma type estradiol without a prescription - if only there was a plant that actually provided real oestrogen - or more specifically, estradiol, rather than providing an oestrogen phyto substitute !
