Indeed, for sure.

Not all bras contain metal, as many of the underwired ones use a resin / plastic, also remember that many zips, buttons, fasteners can also be metal... So your answer is simply to look at how many people wearing jeans, women presumably wearing bras go through security without being stopped!

For anyone interested in the tech behind these things, here is my two penneth from years of experience developing metal detectors. 

Metal detectors use lots of different technologies to detect various types of metals and also they need to ignore lots of other signals to, for instance our bodies are conductive (salt/water etc) so produces a signal that needs to be ignored. They also need to ignore and not cause damage to anything that a person might have implanted such as electronic devices, plates, screws etc.

Different metals produce different signals depending on how conductive / magnetic they are, so metals such as steel (has carbon in it) is easier to detect than say stainless steel (no carbon in it). 

To relate this to 'metal' wired bras, most use a carbonised spring steel which is conductive, however being that they are a wire profile (much harder to detect) and the size compared to the walk-through detector it is highly unlikely that it will detect it. Conversely, if you put a 'metal' wired bra through a smaller detector it WILL detect it. Think about all the pills we take, they all (should) go through a metal detector to make sure there is no metal contaminate in them, the same goes for all our food we eat.

For high security places / high threat levels the sensitivity can be increased, but again, it is unlikely to detect a 'metal' wired bra, other wise they would end up patting everyone down! Like as above, metal eyelets on his boots, actually,  in that scenario it should have been procedure for everyone to remove their shoes (belts etc) prior to going through the detector. I've had many an experience trying to hold up my pants and bare footed with painted toe nails on show in many an airport / security place

Yeah. Unfortunately not true.

For someone who spent 38 years working customer service at the world's busiest airport, and flew multiple times per year since birth on an employee flight pass privileges, I have never ever seen anyone pulled out of a security line because of a bra and/or breast implants.

Me thinks that you're overthinking this.
