I don't have a brand yet, but it's going to be more like 8-12 cups per day according to the research (see below). However, the bio-availability of GTE is long: 1 μg/mL inhibits cancer cell growth for 96 hours. Given enough time (lol) I'll find that GTE is an CYP 17 inhibitor, if it isn't, it should be. I'd go for GTE in pill form, I don't think I could do 8-12 cups. Maybe a combination of liquids/capsules.

Anyways, we'd be looking for a GTE @ 80% polyphenols.....,I've seen them out there, I'm guessing $20-30?.....the cost savings?, priceless in my mind, in other words GTE benefits reaches far beyond our purpose for NBE. (See study below)

I think you might well be correct in your thories:

Apologies if you already seen this Wink

Is the 60-80% Polyphenols amount critical these claim to be 95%?

Seem to be a good price too.

Hi Alison

Excellent Ebay find! Is now in my favourites.

I did try the other link but it didn't work?

Green tea extract need to be @ 60-80% in EGCG polyphenols though. The dosage needs to be determined, recommend use is 2-3 capsules per day, I'm thinking it's slightly more (4-5?) from what this study says. Would this elimante the need for other anti-androgens?, possibly. Soooo- I see a good plan as follows: (though, it's up to you, it won't hurt my feelings). Wink

1-pro-estrogen source
1-pro-aromatase
Green tea extract (imo 4-5 caps per day)
1-growth hormone source
Add the standard healthy fats, exercise, massage, pumping, etc.

Quote: Epigallocatechin-3-gallate EGCG, the major polyphenolic constituent present in green tea, imparts antiproliferative effects against both androgen-sensitive and androgen-insensitive human PCA cells, and this effect is mediated by deregulation in cell cycle and induction of apoptosis. GTE is potent inhibitors of type 1 but not type 2 5α-reductase. (−)Epigallocatechin-3-gallate also inhibits accessory sex gland growth in the rat. These results suggest that certain tea gallates can regulate androgen action in target organs.

Quote: EGCG (green tea) acts as an antagonist of androgen function, similar to the pharmacological inhibitor Casodex, which was used as a control.

So what does this mean?,........it means green tea acts like a pro-pharma class of anti-androgens named Casodex, as in brand name Bicalutamide-aka, a pure antiandrogen used in the treatment of prostate cancer:

Bicalutamide

Green tea polyphenol EGCG blunts androgen receptor function in prostate cancer
The present study is one of the first few reports demonstrating the antiandrogenic action of a plant product and the first report showing the effect of EGCG, a naturally occurring polyphenol present in green tea, in inhibiting human prostate carcinoma cell growth. We have shown that EGCG effectively inhibits the transactivation functions and expression of AR by interfering with its stability as a result of decreased interdomain interaction (Fig. 5). We also showed that EGCG is a novel antagonisAR signaling, which can block AR-regulated gene expression and cell growth in human PCa cells. We thus suggest that EGCG could be developed as a chemotherapeutic agent against hormone-refractory PCa.

Lotus- ever looked at Inosotol? Not much on it here at BN but lots of reports are saying its an excellent AA supplement.

Yes, great find, I'm curious if they ship state side?.

Happyme, thank you for your patience (allowing me to hijack this thread). Hormones release about every 15-20 minutes, (while synthesis is about 60-90 minutes), although it does happens faster aka rapid signaling, seconds to minutes, but!!, it can happen days to weeks lol.

I've looked at DHT for the last 3.5 years, no matter what we do to prevent it from happening......it still does. This is my opinion, attack DHT 4x a day.

Mayko, I did look at insoitol and I have it as a pro-aromatase, do you have any info?, I'd be interested. Smile

Same with vitamin D3, the science is there too, meaning it upreglates T and E2. And as we know, when we try to eliminate most of DHT, what remains?, exactly, T and E2, other hormones too , but for this purpose we'll limit it to the 2 . But let's say we use an anti-androgen in the presence of an aromatase promoter (pick one, WP, forskolin, inositol triphosphate, FSH, etc) which will upregluate both (T and E2) then synthesize thru aromatase. More research (by BN members) should be done on second messengers, (e.g-cAMP,) which imo is key in aroamtase expression and will result in improved breast growth.

Hi lotus!
No worries about hyjacking the thread. All this info is what I was hoping for. My degree is in Math, so I look for clarity and logic in what I am trying to do. ( if you think about that its scary.. guys growing boobs!)
Mostly its great that there are so many on here that need the science broken down to the KISS formula, which makes it easier for me to understand too.
Love your stuff lotus. Keep it coming.

Here's the vendor's add on the US eBay...

I emailed them about shipping costs to the US.

I read the pdf. While it's correct (that it blocks the androgens), it also potently blocks aromatase. So you're still going to want to take extra estrogens.

Has anyone tried the Swanson's GTE? It's 60% polyphenols. $5.99 for 2 bottles of 60.
