how did you come by your name?

#11

I have tried a few names off and on but Erin seems to fit and feel right Smile Also it's not to far off the name my parents gave me. They love me any way I am and who ever I am lol. Makes it easier on them!

I also have to agree that Tesla was AWESOME.

LOL

Ginger Lynn was an 80's porn star too, used to do Night Calls on Playboy Radio with Christy Canyon...man that was hot listening to those two! Big Grin

As for my name, I just added an i to my name to make in female. It was either that or Scota.

Flamesabers or flame isn't much of a real name, let alone a feminine name. Unless you're transitioning or are otherwise leading a double life, I never personally understood the desire of adopting a feminine name. For me, my interest in crossdressing and NBE are simply facets of my personality, instead of being a separate entity that necessities adopting a feminine name. I don't want to try to divide myself into a female and male mindset.

In my case, its not a division of personality. It is correction of the wrongs laid upon me, being given a male name, being expected to conform to social expectations. It is a completion of sorts.

It can be liberating to those who feel the tight constraints of an opposite gender name. For some, there are psychological benefits of having a female name. For some, there is no need, as you stated. Whether it is a sort of validation, well, it may be , or just conjecture.

I do not believe that it is strictly bound to any particular label that may be given..i.e. crossdresser, transsexual, etc. I suspect it is more of personal preference.

My parents gave it to me! I just happen to have one of those names that can be used for boys or girls. Although, there ARE a lot of women these days that have male names!! Michael Learned springs to mind. Other names are basically male, but, if you switch a letter or two, it becomes fem. Bobbi, Ricki, Danni, Dennis becomes Denise, Donny becomes Donna or Don becomes Dawn, Jules becomes Julie, etc., or you can add one letter to make it fem, Carl can become Carla or Carly, Dale becomes Dayle, Robert becomes Roberta, Frederick becomes Fredericka, etc..
I went to school with a gorgeous, very sexy girl, that always dressed very sexy. I think her name was Doreen or Dolores, but she had everyone call her, Bronco!!

For some reason I'm reminded of Johnny Cash's song "A Boy Named Sue." Shy

And there was a parody of it, an answer record, a few years later, but I can't recall the title of it. Something like, "A Girl Named Pete".
Jim Stafford did one called, "My Girl, Bill". Through the whole song it sounds like he's saying her name is Bill (COULD be Billie!), but at the end, you find out he's telling a guy named, Bill, that she's his girl.
A bass player that used to be in my band before I joined calls herself, Nigel.
Dana can be used by both, so can Kelly, Micky, and a number of others.

The feminine form of my male name seems kind of cliche for me Sad My friends are still trying to think of a good name, but nothing's stuck so far. 'Gemma' was a good contender last night. Smile It has a nice ring to it.
