Hi Jeanne, I wouldn't wait for your doctor's office to prescribe an anti-androgen, you still have options like using Reishi or EGCG.
Don't sacrifice bone health based on Testosterone concerns. I can't stress enough the importance of protecting against osteoporosis, low bone density or bone loss. It took me 6 months to recover from my broken ankle last year (June). What absolutely sucked was losing my mobility (freedom to drive anytime you want).
Here's what's important about vitamin D and calcium, they need each other to become more effective.
Vitamin D
The body needs vitamin D to absorb calcium. Without enough vitamin D, one can’t form enough of the hormone calcitriol (known as the “active vitamin D”). This in turn leads to insufficient calcium absorption from the diet. In this situation, the body must take calcium from its stores in the skeleton, which weakens existing bone and prevents the formation of strong, new bone.
You can get vitamin D in three ways: through the skin from sunlight, from the diet, and from supplements. Experts recommend a daily intake of 600 IU (International Units) of vitamin D up to age 70. Men and women over age 70 should increase their uptake to 800 IU daily, which also can be obtained from supplements or vitamin D-rich foods such as egg yolks, saltwater fish, liver, and fortified milk. The Institute of Medicine recommends no more than 4,000 IU per day for adults. However, sometimes doctors prescribe higher doses for people who are deficient in vitamin D.

I look at this differently than you, I see this as an opportunity. You have this surplus of T which says to me there's a huge reservoir of aromatase yet to be tapped. Guess what product is an actual potentiator of aromatase?...vitamin D3. Vitamin D on the hand isn't, that's why I focus using vitamin D3 in my Lotus Plan.
Calcium and vitamin D3 are synergistic when combined with MSM for breast growth. So instead of focusing on Testosterone metabolism focus on estrogen metabolism and breast growth.
As I mentioned before, start on an AA, lower SHBG, add protein (which helps lower SHBG and T at the same time).
Don't use Saw Palmetto as an anti-androgen- it only inhibits DHT @ 32% and progesterone receptors inhibits estrogen. It does okay for inhibiting DHT in the prostate.
Reshi inhibits DHT @ 80-90%
Once you get that T/DHT ratio down the estrogen pathway is easy.
"When DHT formation is inhibited, the aromatization pathway of T to estradiol will prevail and induce a pronounced down-regulation of AR mRNA levels"
In other words…the balance of androgens are shifted to favor estradiol synthesis of breast growth and feminization.
