Yes myboobs I know what you're referring to, it's called gene-therapy,
"Introduce a healthy gene in a patient and its product should alleviate the defect caused by a faulty gene or slow the progression of disease"
In a similar way when a hormone binds to a receptor a DNA response is expressed when it binds to the nucleus of the cell and causes an expression or sequence (growth). So in a way we can say it's already being done in NBE lol.
When they can grow an ear on a lab animals back you can imagine what's next lol.
