Very well spoken I think.

what do you mean "attempt" at humor?

Just had to make a quick comment on the difference between using tits and breasts. Tits is a more sexual term and can be disrespectful which is why you don't want to always use it.

Anywho depending on where you live ppl might talk but I highly doubt ppl will confront you or make that huge of a deal about it. They may just blow it off as moobs. And it doesn't matter if your transgender, gay, or an average joe ppl will find a reason to dislike u and find reasons to talk. You have to accept and love yourself and focus on those closest to u instead of wasting your time and energy on haters.

Very true, I second that opinion.

Well, your intended audience, the OP, didn't seem to get the joke, thus it was actually a failed attempt. However, I appreciated it and still smile when thinking about it, but then I enjoy puns, which I am told are the lowest form of humor.

Yah. I love puns. Honestly, though, I didn't mean to wrankle anyone. Call them whatever you want... I like the term "muffins" personally. But then again, that goes back to my teen years and my love of The Smiths. There was a song on the album The Queen Is Dead... "some girls are bigger than others"... but, again, I digress.

We shouldn't bite at each other, we're a community of weirdos already... why would anyone want to further ostracize one of the brotherhood of the breast? I did not mean to come off as rude or judgmental.

I just thought the way original conversation was presented was silly.
Tits and tats... how could you not laugh. Seriously. No pun intended this time.

And to address the original point, I really like Doodle's idea of saying that "I'm taking a medication that causes gyno."

Because I am... lots of it.

Tis is a LOT easier to say that breasts and easier than boobs. And, as a boob is someone of little intelligence, and I CERTAINLY don't see tits as boobs!! Also, to me, boobs are flabby bags of skin that just hang uselessly from ones chest. I prefer to say tits instead of boobs, besides, no matter what you call them, everyone knows what you're referring to, so, why should "tits" be banned but BOOBS is not?? Little kids use the word, "boobs", I thought we were adults, here.

I think you missed Emily's attempt at humor. however, I think adults say, "breasts." Hence, the name of this site being "breastnexus" as opposed to "boobsnexus" or "titsnexus."

Besides, "tits" sounds more like a snack or something. Could I get an order of tater tits, please? Shy
I guess I did, but, just re-reading my reply, I can't imagine HOW I screwed it up so badly unless it was just that I was so damn tired! But, no matter, I wasn't pissed off about what either of them said, I was just responding.

Okay, then, why can't tits be used? According to your George Carlin reference, its IS very innocent and not at all dirty! I understand that some people are offended by "tits", but, I'm offended by "boobs". Of the two, tits is MUCH easier to say and it's a cute word.
Breast is used as a "technical" name for that part of the anatomy, as is "testicles" for THAT part of the anatomy, but how many people prefer to say "balls" instead of "testicles"? And EVERYONE has breasts, as do most (if not ALL) mammals.

Tattoos are MUCH more accepted, especially these days, because they've been around for thousands of years and, these days, they are seen as extremely cool and hip! I know of a number of people with tattoo regret!! They got `em `cause they thought it was cool, then they grew up, saw how stupid it was and had them removed!
NBE is what YOU want to do with YOUR body. NOBODY can MAKE you stop or change it!!
This whole thing was basically an idea to try to help us overcome the prejudice of men having tits. Another weapon for you to use in your battle to win the acception you SHOULDN'T HAVE to fight for!! You DO want to win this, don't you? I'm just trying to come up with another way to help.

So, you don't think that an old high school chum that you haven't seen SINCE high school, would call you out over this?

Oh, I can guarantee you there are LOADS of people that can't deal with ANY form of what they consider homosexuality.

I guess I have a very different perspective from you regarding this issue. It would be nice to gain acceptance from others, but I don't see trying to justify my decisions to everyone I meet as a practical way to achieve this. I think sometimes silence is golden. Outside of NBE, there are all sorts of decisions and such I have made that others may disagree with or even fail to comprehend. My stance with politics, my lack of belief in the supernatural, and my preference to not have kids are all things that others may never express acceptance of.

In the other words, walking on the paths I take in life are not intrinsically dependent on gaining acceptance from others. It may be worth it to express myself to the fence-sitters and those who are open-minded but are unaware of NBE and such. However, I would avoid doing the same with those who have a vitriol attitude towards those who do not conform to their rules about gender identity and expression.

Do I think people might call me out on my decision to pursue NBE? Absolutely. I think not engaging in what probably will be a fruitless argument says a lot more about my self-confidence than any verbal argument I could produce. I'm all for informing those who are curious and potentially receptive about NBE, but arguing with prejudiced bigots I think is a waste.

All this talk about what to call breasts reminds me of the breast cancer awareness slogan "Save the Tatas."

But you're ASKED, if not FORCED to justify every time someone confronts you on the fact that you have tits.

Okay, but those things (politics, beliefs and not having kids) are YOUR choice! It's NOT for someone else to MAKE you do what THEY want you to do! Just like growing tits is something you (we ALL, here) choose to do! NOBODY has the right to make us do anything we don't want to do!! I'm just trying to give you all a bit more muscle in your right to do this. I've know SO MANY of our types over the past 20 years and I have seen how scared a lot of us are to let the girls be seen (under a shirt, in a bra, not necessarily naked) in public and was just trying to give some of you a supportive way to muscle-up to STAND up to anyone confronting you on this choice you've made. They don't ask for YOUR approval or permission to do what they want to do to their bodies, do they? So, why should any of us be forced to suffer the same?

I know! But, face up to it, you most likely ARE going to run afoul of one of those who can't tolerate your difference and it was just my idea that a way of thinking of this sort could help you get through it easier.

Okay, yes, you CAN choose not to engage in such an argument, but, that doesn't mean it's not going to be forced upon you.

There are dozens of names that can be used to call breasts. Tits, boobs, McGuffies, melons, cantaloupes, bumpy bits, hooters, bazongas, golden bozos, Winnebagos, tatas, girls, twins, yavahos, jewels, etc..

The main problem I see with your argument is that breasts and tattoos are not the same kind of fruit. If you have a tattoo or don't have one, you're not breaking any rules. But breasts are different. Whether you like it or not, for all intents and purposes, breasts belong on women. It might not be written in any law books but we all know it's a "law" of nature.

...And you're crossing the line and need correction!

Which is why, the hypothetical person you're talking to is confronting you. Honestly, I can't imagine that conversation ending well with anyone I know. At least anyone I want to maintain a relationship with. Everyone I imagined having that conversation with would "listen" (Minnesota nice) but then walk away shocked and after pondering it for a while, probably toss me into the looney bin preferring to rejoin the majority that believe breasts belong on women alone. Your approach might work in 2099 with the last bigot on earth who can't accept blended genders but right now, you're trying to change a foundational crux of anthropology. Personally, I'd try to deflect the comment by making light of it or saying I'm on a treatment that causes gynecomastia.

Last weekend, my father-in-law was at a trade show and encountered a cross dresser. When he was telling me about it, he referred to the person and one of those "funny people, you know, a guy who wants to be a girl". Fortunately, I was able to maintain my composure and get away because I didn't know what to say. I WISH I would have been prepared to say this:

Father-in-law: "I saw a transgender weirdo today"

Me: "did you talk to him?"

Father-in-law: "no"

Me: "You should have. Most people like that are very nice but have a lot of pain and inner turmoil. Why else would he bring so much condescension upon himself? You COULD have been the ONE compassionate person he needed to hear from today. The one person who would say, "you're OK, I accept you as you are and want to be a friend to you."

...Next time I'll be prepared and hopefully I'll win one for grace and acceptance. Maybe sometime, my Father-in-law will discover that he's known one of those weirdo's for 20 years.

Well, women wearing pants, suits, ties and having very short hair, smoking, working, being in politics, being able to VOTE, were ALL ALSO not at ALL normal, but women did it anyway, fought for it and GOT it!! Some of that only just came about 40 years ago! Men didn't wear earrings, either, but George Carlin saw to it to change that back in the early `70's! Men didn't wear long hair, but that changed in the `60's.

You're crossing the line, too! You're growing breasts! Doesn't THAT count for something? In a way, it's now your job to open the minds of others, if not for yourself, for others like you.

One other thing I forgot to mention, which actually gave me the entire idea in the first place was that you COULD say, "I've been hearing a lot about nipple orgasms and they sound wonderful and I simply wanted to experience them! To do that, I had to grow tits! You REALLY SHOULD try it!! It's FANTASTIC!!" Tout it as a kind of drug you've recently found.

I know, I've worked with at least one person that that thinks it's his god-given right to kill gay people or anyone he suspects might be gay, as the bible dictates!! Now, in my new job, I work with a LOT of people that hate gays, blacks and anyone else that's different from them, but, even though I KNOW they are wrong for thinking that way, I have to just let it go and let them say what they want, which, in the heart of it, is dead wrong!! They can have and express their views and opinions, but I can't??? How does THAT work????
