Ways to Maintain Function while on HRT?

#1

Hi,

Bit of an awkward question but how do you prefer to maintain male performance / function while on HRT?

My gf has been very cool with my breast growth & we have an active intimate life, but the HRT that I'm on causes loss of libido and decreased function. Arginine helps offset this for me, but I'm curious what others use.

HRT and male performance generally don't go hand in hand, it's usually one or the other.
Little blue pills, viagra, etc may help, and good luck if it does, and don't forget the old adage - use it or lose it!

I was thinking if I should reply this and Wee2er said exactly what I was about to. The most important thing is practice, HRT kills random erections so its not being kept "awake" naturally, so use it if you want to keep it. But despite that the function will not be the same, it is more than likely it just wont. Also keep in mind the change of size and shape that HRT brings, it can be dramatic.

For myself I mostly don't care, all I want is to maintaining the amount of tissue that will be rearranged into a pretty kitty. Big Grin I was lucky that I was really big before HRT, so the size loss hasn't been much of an issue. Function isn't the same at all, but interestingly sensitivity is many times better. Also to keep in mind is that it might not work the same way, old stuff might end up feeling like nothing and you need new ways to stimulate yourself.

The pleasure side of things is likely to go from concentrated and quick to full body and far, far better.

And then an interesting note, topical DHEA can help maintaining your size or even make it bigger. Tocpial DMSO can also help with elasticity and allowing bigger blood supply down there. I haven't done these things, but read about it and the science of how and why makes sense. Perhaps a topical program of DHEA, mild DMSO cream and testosterone gel could help to keep stuff down there working. Doing these for a cis guy on T dominance might make their junk bigger too. Anyway, these are just anecdotes. There are entire forums dedicated to this stuff so maybe digging up some more info online could be helpful.

Cheers Lara for the added detail.
I can concur about size, how it functions, sensitivity pleasure etc.
For me, I have seen some minimal loss in girth, but the positives - pleasure etc far out weigh the loss.
DHEA/DMSO topical, interesting thoughts!

Also, look at post 4975 (and the earlier posts mentioned 4874, 4896, and 4961) as well as the next few posts afterward in this thread:

As wee2er mentioned, tadalafil or viagra.  Both wee2er and Lara said to “use it or lose it” and “practice”.

I have been trying to walk the fine line between growing boobs and functional.    With my relationship,  I have to make my sexual performance higher priority.     Growth is certainly slowed, but slow growth is still possible.

Here is my advice:

1.  Keep using it, we have sex almost daily.

2.  Jelqing and pumping to maintain size  ( I do this at the same time I noogle, usually daily )

3.  I use white peony and saw palmetto to block DHT - these seem to have least impact on my libido.

4.  I do topical  PM / Estrogen on my chest, hips, and inner thighs,  and avoid use on the penis and testicles.   I tried it for a bit and it completely killed my libido in two days.

5.  I use estrogen & PM for a few weeks then, add progesterone seems to improve my libido and function for a while.

6.  Strenuous exercise -  I lift weights hard, run, and do sprints.   Things go south quickly when I am taking estrogen and don't exercise.

7.  Take recovery breaks.   I can go months before things go south.  When that happens, I stop until I recover my function ( which is usually within a couple weeks )

Although counter-intuitive - I have also tried applying estrogen 30 minutes before sex and the sex has been great (is it just psychological?).  Plus what everyone else has said.... VIAGRA Smile

The look, feel, color and sensitivity down there have changed quite a bit over the past few years.  Light stimulation does more for me than stroking now and nipple orgasms are much more common.   I do find orgasms both more intense and enjoyable.

Thanks Wee2er, Heaven's Night, thboy, and Vana_B for the suggestions, I'm going to look into Viagra & DHEA as a start & see how it goes.

I would like to add my two cents: Consider also trying Tadalafil (brand name Cialis). I took earlier Sildenafil (brand name Viagra), 100 mg. However, it was difficult to "time" it due to relatively short active time. Now I have Tadalafil 20 mg and its effect last much longer.

BTW I like to use the non-original versions which have identical active substance, and therefore for me "Viagra" = Sildenafil, and "Cialis" = Tadalafil. The only difference is price!

Viagra is usually taken “as needed” as Teddy stated.  To echo Teddy, consider tadalifil first unless you need an immediate effect.  Tadalifil/cialis 2.5 mg (or maybe 5mg also) is considered a daily dose and is longer acting than viagra.  The 5mg tadalifil tablets can be broken in half.  The 2.5mg tablets are more expensive than the 5mg and more difficult to find.  Plenty of places to order online.  Lots of late night tv commercials for mail order sources in the US too.

Tadalafil can have a minuscule effect to lower blood pressure but it is only 1 - 2 points and this does not occur for everyone and it does not occur for an entire 24 hour period if it occurs, iirc.
