Apparently, I get to spend they next 8-12 hours in the hospital having surgery to remove a large kidney stone. During the procedure, they'll be placing a stent, which is basically a long plastic tube trough the urethra.

This is probably the first time I've ever wished I didn't have an extra 8" of urethra to go through, because it is going to be very painful.

On the upside, I got to laugh as the doctor who came in to explain the procedure help ground over her pronouns while explaining it to my wife.

OUCH!!! Sad

Are you going to have to pass the kidney stone through your urethra? Or is there an alternative treatment option you can pursue? I heard the pain of passing a kidney stone through your urethra can be comparable to childbirth.

I don't get this sentence. Would you please explain?

I am assuming the eight inches is the erect length of your urethra. I will be very surprised if a tube up your urethra causes an erection. As the recipient of several cystoscopies myself, I can comfort you with the prediction that your penis will probably respond to the procedure by shriveling to a tiny nub.

Ya, there is something about a snake getting snaked that throws it into total retreat. Probably take A LOT of coaxing to get it out.

Hopefully the lubricant or whatever is used to help with the coaxing doesn't create a burning sensation! Sad

I got scoped about 4 yrs back, due to having a little blood in my urine. They wanted to make sure there was no tear or cancer or some type of open wound in my bladder. Usually the doctor or an assistant will use a lubricant with a numbing agent incorporated with it. The reason is that most males can only handle an 18 fr. gauge cath, but most scopes is about a 22 or 24 fr. gauge. That is if I remember what the doctor told me... But never the less the stress of the test is what does it. The "One Eye Snake" does see it coming bro. You could have an S.I. swim suit model coming in to do the procedure, and that wont matter a hill of beans when it see's the endo scope coming at ya.
