From a biological woman(sorry I just had to chime in because women's sizing is the worst) I can tell you that literally no number matters. Not what they say you should be, not what you think you should be, not anything. You have to try on everything. That's why women usually say I'm a 2/4 or a 14/16 because you literally can't be definite across the board. Don't ask me why but women don't get a universal measurement like men do, we just get numbers and guessing games. Stick to a few brands that you like more than others and it makes the guesswork easier because you get used to their sizing, so you only need to change when the specific garment might run a little funny. I love H&M because for the most part they actually use numbers for both mens and womens clothing. Pretty much all of my clothes is from there and I get compliments a lot. I hope that helps a bit. But yes, women's sizes are the flipping worst ):

actually even male clothes are that way for the most part, but it is mostly down to various issues from the factory it's made in either trying to use less fabric or just simply being incapable of measuring, on down to errors in metric to inch conversion, or even the MFR having thier own "Unique Size System" or simple mislabeling.

I'll never forget one pair of jeans I bought without trying them on a few years back, said one size on them, turned out the waist was 4" smaller....

turned out the mfr had no clue how to measure, every single pair was literally a different size than what was on the tag.

What's the deal with the multiple scales? The one I'm most familiar with puts me in a 12 (more or less) but then there is petite and women's. And then there's a scale that puts me in a 33 (I think). Yeah, girls sizes won't fit anyone grown.

The petite is for pants length, if I'm not mistaken. You don't want these either unless you're into showing off some ankle lol

Yeah, for women it has nothing to do with MFR error. I think companies just get joy out of watching us be super confused and trying to find our proper size. HAHAH LOOK AT THAT SHE'S TRIED ON 10 SIZES ALREADY AND NONE FIT LOL NOW LET'S SEE HER DO THE SAME WITH OUR OTHER BRANDS HAHAHAAHHAHA
