As to the problem, and having suffered the same way, arousal OK but can't get stiff enough any longer, may I be incredibly obvious and ask whether he has tried Viagra and its ilk. They did the trick for me for several years; all they really do is provide that extra bit of firmness. In the end even they couldn't compete with my medications. If they don't work for him, then that in itself may provide a clue as to what is wrong.
