Actually. If you aren't completely hoaxing us, and I'm still not convinced you aren't, that coumarin could have played a very big part in what happened.
Coumarin by itself isn't very dangerous to humans except in high quantities. It is a precursor to dangerous substances, but none of those are in FG. At the levels found in FG, if you fear it, you should also avoid strawberries, apricots, and cherries. And probably quite a few other fruits and vegetables too. And perfumes. And some liquors. And cinnamon. Heck, you might as well listen to OSB and start boiling it to try to increase the potency of the bad stuff by eliminating good content and concentrating the bad.
