It seems that on this and every other board I have been on, popular threads almost always do get hijacked or diverted, and a lot of the most interesting postings arise out of this. This thread started with Flamesabers seeking input on a particular instance of getting noticed, but has expanded into a discussion of various aspects of getting noticed, from the point of view of both the 'noticee' and the 'noticer'. This seems to me useful and not unrelated to the original query although possibly just "Getting Noticed" would now be a more appropriate title for the thread as it has developed.
Which brings me to a query. Is it possible for the 'owner' of a thread on this board to amend its title (as opposed to its number)? This could be a useful facility, particularly for those of us that provide periodic updates or sequels, and are stuck with a title that is no longer appropriate, or who wish to regain control of an escaped thread.
