I love my wife and wouldn't even have had the courage to embrace the woman inside me if it wasn't for her as well as reading the open minded and safe posts from all of you. It would be selfish of me to not include her in the decision making process here and I want her to feel as comfortable as she so lovingly and understandably wants me to feel. For that I would do anything and not worry about the labels. I do apologize for mislabeling myself on my user name, I was under the impression that TS was more a mindset then an actual physical expression. I suppose TG would have been more appropriate? I sincerely apologize for any offense given! Once again byrony thank you for your words and chrissie I am sorry for offending.
Hi Amber,
if you want to find out if you are TS, then you need to take a sustained high dose of PM. For me this was 3g (3000mg) a day for about a week.
It was like being reborn. I can't put it any better than that.
It doesn't affect everyone that way. The theory is that transsexualism is caused by the amount of androgen that the foetus is exposed to at a critical stage of development. Maternal stress can reduce this and, without it, the brain develops in a female mode (the default).
Obviously (to me) this must be a continuum. There are folk on this board to whom PM has a less dramatic effect by far. One thing is fairly certain though: if you take a high dose for long enough, and you have a standard, normal, male brain, you will feel anxiety. There is arguably one case of this on this board, a person named Karen.
If, like me, you experience a sustained feeling of contentment, happiness, and the desire to experience life on a day-by-day basis, instead of a worried, jaundiced, cynical attitude, then, take it from me, you are a transsexual.
If you are:...
[My opinion] That does not mean you have to transition with all the massive internal re-engineering that entails. If you go to see a "gender specialist", they will encourage you, as they are compelled to by the medical orthodoxy du jour, to take massive doses of dangerous hormones and be castrated; but I believe a valid alternative now exists, thanks to PM.
See my post on "Managing the TS condition - a heretical approach?"
Good luck!
Bryony
