this is not the complex thing you make it out to be.
if someone spews hatred and prejudice publicly, they need to be challenged and called out for it. that is it. nothing more to it. every. damn. time. this is true here, this is true at workplaces, at social circles, at home.
blocking works only if someone harasses you privately. you can't stop the spread of hate by putting your head in the sand, if everyone else keeps hurting from the hate.
you're seriously putting name-calling above misogyny, transphobia, interphobia?? name-calling is not right. but it doesn't make an infinitely worse thing suddenly disappear?? the debate is NOT over as long as the hateful attitudes are there.
hate and prejudice needs to be challenged every time. the fact doesn't change if threads get deleted or forums get closed down. what the hell do we need a forum for, if it's used to spew harmful views? this patriarchal idea of systems and hierarchies being somehow more important than people and human rights is so perverse and sickening.
