Cis is some kind of term made up by, who knows, to describe someone who was born the gender their chromosomes are and they identify as, hence female with female chromosomes is a cis female. I find it ridiculous, but it is what it is.

No, its not ridiculous. Its not stupid. It makes sense. Cis as in cissex or cisgender means "those who stay as they are" as opposed to transsex or transgender which is those who change. It has nothing to do with chromosomes or any other biological indicator, it has nothing to do with sex characteristics, its literally just that who stays vs. that who changes.

If you didn't know, its a Latin preposition which is used in a whole lot of meanings, not just this one. It was not invented by transpeople.
