The male setting is compensating for wider back and chest, it typically does one cupsize difference. It is the more back/chest vs. breast thing I mentioned earlier, the reason why many guys keep complaining that ABTF calculator is inaccurate. Obviously it is as its measuring in one dimention and boobs are 3D objects. But with typical male back/chest its quite easy to compensate if needed, the calculation is typically close enough. Or actually the numbers are exactly what it says, fitting bra is a whole different matter.
