Aches down there are a sign of the darn things starting to shut down. This and acne are both symptoms of elevated estrogens so you might be onto something here. 
This same stuff happens on HRT, it can get quite intense until your body adapts. I had a lot of random aches for about one year, then less as time went on and these days none.
