Reading your post's about the meeting, well it looks good news, what I am sure you appreciate it will be a change for them as well, many more questions will be asked and I am sure that it will turn out in the end.
So being there for 38 years must mean you are very good at your job and to lose a valued member would not happpen, the only concern is the rest of the workforce.
A question for you. What are the employment laws like in France for transgender females, here in the UK you cannot dismiss a person for wanting to be transgender, if they are the same as ours then you will not have a problem.
