Reading this, I'm more than happy about living in my side of the world... Even though its not all carefree and good here either, but nothing even close of the troubles you describe above. I really wish the times will change the world and people fix their attitudes when the older generations give way for younger ones who might be smarter on these things.
If everyone would have the anarchistic idea of everyone being free to express themselves in what ever ways they wish, world would become so much better place for many. More exposure sure helps though. I've been teaching my own friends about what it is about. Most of them have never had a trans person in their lives so maybe there's something good to be achieved on a personal level. Its so unfortunate that a fringe group of people is being pushed even further to the fringes and changes to normal life taken away just for being themselves.
