Drew, there is no need to be offended.
The fake over-politeness of British English is famous everywhere. I live and have lived in London for 11 years and I still see threads of Email going through and forth with clients because, for the sake of being polite, it's almost impossible to directly criticise something.
I am not like that. I don't hide behind fake politeness. When I have something to say, I just say it directly and in the most understandable way.
That's what I meant. And it wasn't an attack to the Brits. It's a simple consideration on language.
