The sizing of vintage brassieres may be quite different from that used for modern bras (I have personal experience of this from buying & wearing Marilyn Monroe bullet bras), as the old bras did not use elasticated bands or underwires.
Today, the under-boob dimension is directly taken as the band size, but then they used to add 3 or 4 inches to get the basic bra size. So a 32" measurement might have translated into a 36" bra.
I also have issues with the modern method of determining cup size. The mantra is that you take the difference between the over-boob and under-boob measurements, so that 1" gives an A cup, 2" a B cup etc.
This might work for the smaller band sizes, but I think it needs modification for the larger band bras (band 38 or more) which many crossdressers might require.
According to this formula, I should be a C or even D cup, but in fact I can only fill a B!
