Do you think this may help enlarge the areola?
A few years ago, I bought a used Medela pump on eBay. My goal was to attempt to induce lactation. Everything I've read says to use it 20 minutes every two hours. I found my nipples would crack and ooze a clear liquid that I assumed to be blood plasma. It was not as if it flowed or filled any bottles. After that, I started using a little bit of hand lotion just on the nipples and areolae. The cracking stopped and oozing stopped.
Unfortunately, I was never able to dedicate much time to the process so I got no results of any kind. My best guess is that areola size increases as a result of the area being stretched by the formation of breast tissue behind it and the action of hormones that are causing that breast growth. If the herbs/hormones cause "puffy nipples," then I believe the areolae will widen. Then again I could be wrong. I'm not sure a breast pump will enlarge the areolae, but it might lengthen the nipples, maybe, if used frequently enough. Breast suction devices like Noogleberry might enlarge the areolae if there is actual hormone-induced tissue helping to fill in as opposed to only scar tissue. I tend to think hormones are the key, but what do I know?
