You know, it took a while sifting through the published material about MSM, I've found one really has to be objectionable when analyzing the results. To me, it's amusing to find results stating there's insufficient clinical research, ha!.
Anyways, MSM from a clinical standpoint relieves oxidative stress, anti-cancer properties, decreases muscle damage, suppresses breast cancer, anti-inflammatory, helps relieve osteoarthritis, etc..etc.
Annie, I couldn't find anything that suggests MSM can repair your linea alba, only consuming foods that boost collagen can help repair the diastasis. I'm no doctor that's for sure, so I can't offer a medical opinion at all, however I can tell you that I take MSM myself and believe it helps for me. So, I hope in part the info provided may help in some way.

There's more, trust me!
Many thanks, Lotus
The non-medical references repeatedly state that MSM promotes the synthesis of collagen, though I have failed to locate scientific backing for these statements. However, since the linea alba is a collagenous (?) structure, it seems reasonable that MSM might help its repair. Anyway, there doesn't seem likely to be any harm in trying it.
My waist line continues to reduce (although I can't yet (ever?) compete with Sammie), so anything that may help to 'fix' the reduction is welcome.Hugs
