I would say it depends what stage of the process you are at.
It took 6 weeks before I started to bud a small pea that grew into a acorn.
So in the beginning stages I would say it would probably hinder growth rather than help it.
On the other hand looking back, the first stages were for me were the best part of the journey. If I had it to do over I would try to prolong it in the acorn stage as long as I could at the sacrifice of growth.
Buts that's just me.
