I don't like this topic at all. But I have to post this, its been in the back of my mind for a while now and as it seems that there's more and more transphobic bullshit seeping in on BN forum too, it has to be addressed.
Perhaps it should be called as transmisia and intermisia as "phobia" isn't strong enough or descriptive enough word for the hate I have to face. Hate, denial, belittling, nasty treatment... I'm not even in the worst possible spot with it because I'm fully cis passable, I stealth in public, new people in my life do not know my background and its none of their business either. I'll tell whomever becomes really close on a need to know basis. Yes I have a right to not disclose to anyone on grounds of safety.
The western world is beyond fucked up. The rise of (christo)fascism in USA is undeniable. Govt goons murdering innocent people kidnapping children, locking up people to "detention centers", I mean concentration camps, LGBT+ and POC people going into hiding, moving abroad, keeping low profile and being generally scared for their lives. Its undeniable. And this bullshit has emboldened transphobes and racists all over the world.
Also in Finland, attitudes have grown much worse as now the hateful ignorant fucks dare to speak out. The mask has been fully dropped. Our wannabe maga fascist politicians are posting racist "jokes" pissing off gazillion Asian people. For a good reason too! Racism is ugly, hating anyone is ugly. Its totally foolish and unnecessary, yet so many poeple love it. It seems as if its some kind of nearly collective sociopathy and sadism, wanting to see others hurt for what ever reason. So thanks a lot one third of USAliens, thanks a fucking lot.
There's a sharp spike in hate crimes since around 2023. The statistics are horrible and the hate is spreading. Most of it has had a racistic motivations, but sooner rather than later, it'll spread towards LGBT people too. Mark my words.
Our rights are being eroded, acceptance is trampled to the ground, our breathing space gets narrower and narrower... Safe spaces are more important than ever before. BN forum is a safe space, it should be. We have always been inclusive here and respected each other, right? Or at least tolerated at very least. I'm not a huge fan of transvestite guys for example, to whom femininity is just a thrill to get their rocks off. But I'm well aware of the overlap between crossdressers and trans people and how its a gateway to transition to so many. We come along 99% of the time here really well and that's awesome. Also, BN forumn is one of the very few online communities where I have felt mostly welcome and mostly safe.
That's obviously changing. The occasional trolling happens, that's just what the internet is like, that's not a problem. But trans/intermisia is. Science denial is. It is a fact, a well known and understood fact, that trans women are real women, its ridiculous having to even mention this. It is a fact, that a medical transition is a SEX TRANSITION. Its changing sex characteristics on a fundamental level. It is rigging human biology to change our bodies according to our genetic make up, genetics which has both male and female characteristics ready to be activated which after pregnancy happens by hormonal change and surgery where hormones alone cannot complete the change. To live as a man or a woman is a social role, that can be easily changed and it becomes self evident the point where a trans person is so changed that they can't be told apart from cis men or women.
A statement that "a man can never become a woman" is so ridiculously wrong, on so many levels. Its transphobic and science denial. Its a lie. Our existence and transition is not an opinion, it is a undeniable often physical fact. Chromosomes can't be used as a crutch to claim otherwise either because once you understand how human biology works you understand how the most common chromos do not change the fact that intersex people and trans people can have different chromosomal setup and it has ZERO impact in daily life. 99% of people don't even know their own chromosomes, so why the fuck is that used as a crutch to deny our existence? Learn some biology, its complicated because human is complicated.
Transmisia and intermisia have no place on this forum. Especially in the current climate where LGBT+ people are prosecuted and oppressed way more than before, we're going backwards and its horrible to watch. BN forum has to be a safe space for everybody, regardless what their motivations for NBE are, regardless of which sex characteristics they have and which gender they live as. We have to stay inclusive and respectful here. If we wont, I will leave and many others will also leave, trans women will feel even more alienated. So many eggs have cracked here, so many closeted trans people are here, we must protect them! And all of you cis normies have to protect us! We are too few to survive alone, we need YOUR help!
Every cis person should become an ally, especially you all here. How the fuck anyone dares to take my advice and in next sentence deny my existence on more than one level within few words?! I will not advice transphobes. Anyone who denies mecial science facts and denies my identity and existence is an enemy, and they can all fuck right off. And everyone else, should be an ally and act accordingly.
