Possibly Dumb Breast Budding question

#1

Hey!

I am trying to organize my post-beginning HRT regiment and need some clarification. Planning on moving over to topical program as well as adding progesterone once my breast buds are solid and ready for moving past the beginning part of this journey.

However, I do not know when my buds are 'done'. I am starting to get noticeable Montgomery glands on one, and I think the other is in the middle of those showing up based on growth pains.

Trying to be as optimal with timing as possible, but I don't want to undermine myself by starting too early. I've tried to search through the Project X but I don't have the Search-Fu to find what I am looking for. If anyone has any info/way to know, I'd appreciate it!!

Any other tips for this weird in-between stage would also be appreciated, if you have any!! I am not opposed to new tips/tricks!

The way you're describing your situation sounds like you're in Tanner stage two most likely? Typically Stage two doesn't last very long, the development might not be symmetrical and it happens gradually in stages, mine do that still to this day that one side is leading and then at some point the other catches up. It was especially obvious in the beginning stages when evern the smallest development jumps out easily.

Perhaps wait some more? How long have you been on HRT by now? I'm all for starting prog and topicals early although you'll see the greatest benefits later once you develop into T4 stage.

I don't know if there is optimal timing for these things, I started out all additional stuff the day I got them. With prog there's two schools of thought, others say wait long enough first and some start early. I started early and it felt it was only beneficial to do so. At least it didn't harm anything.

I've been on HRT for about 7 months. I had gynecomastia prior to starting HRT from weird base hormonal levels and just being very overweight, so it is honestly kind of hard for me to tell when it comes to Tanner stages, since I've had various levels of breast development throughout the years anyway.

I thought I was past stage 2 because my nipple/areolas don't hurt anymore when they are bumped into something.
My areolas are elevated over my normal breast tissue, which the chart says is a sign of T4, but they've been like that for a couple of months at this point.

I've been wanting to start prog for a while, but I don't want to stunt myself more than male puberty already has.
If it isn't a universal opinion that you really need to wait before starting prog I think I am probably going to give it a go sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your help btw!!

You might? Can't tell without pictures and some times the development is kinda obscure and not following the typical process, I mean that tanner stages are not always totally obvious. But usually T4 development is.

I started prog when I was seven months on HRT if I remember correctly, so quite early. At least it obviously didn't cause any harm, nor slow anything down either.

Honestly? If you’re 7 months in and already seeing areolar elevation, you’re probably fine to start prog.
