I took my symptoms of leg pain to the internet (WebMD) and discovered that I potentially had a DVT.  WebMD told me to go to the hospital immediately.  Long story short: I would have been dead if I tried to take something OTC from a drug store to stop the leg pain (DVT).  I had no other symptoms except for the leg pain (typical of a DVT.)  The doctor at the last minute before she released me decided to do a CT scan with contrast of my lungs even though I had no symptoms in my chest (e.g. low O2 levels). The CT scan found 10 major blood clots in my lungs.  She was amazed that I was still alive.  IMO, don't be your own doctor.
