RE: Back Again - IanW55 - 13-02-2023

Hi folks,

Still waiting for all the PM & RR to get out of my system dont know how long that will take but I guess 2 weeks should be fine then I start something new.

Just had my bloods back from a private company (see attached) basically these are the results.

Albmin 38 g/l
SHBC 170 nmol/L (off the scale) not sure what theat means ?????

Oestradoil 75 pmol/L
Testosterone 10.9 nmol/L
Free Testosterone 0.06 nmol/L (Again off the scale) not sure what that means ????

Would the learned ones please comment.

Thanks
Liz

Hi Liz,
I am not extremely "learned one" in medical matters. However, I think  the result you are wondering as SHBC is actually SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin).

According to what I found out by simple Google search is that when it is very high, there is often excess Estrogens and low Testosterone. In your case the Free T is very low. SHBG "normal" or "typical" value is also changing as function of age, increasing with years, while T is lowering.

I leave deeper interpretation to others. However the combination of high SHBG and low free T definitely hang together, because SHBG binds to T and thus reduces free T.

Hugs,
Teddy

Hi Liz,

I'm so happy you did this test for yourself Liz. Smile When SHBG is high (like yours @ 170 nmol/L) you cannot and will not produce estradiol.

I shortened this statement from the study listed below to read this way:
"The binding of SHBG prevents bound hormones from diffusing out of the bloodstream, thereby preventing hormone binding to the intracellular androgen or estrogen receptors"

In essence it reflects how you're storing more estradiol in blood (and other tissues) rather than displacing from blood (and the bloodstream) in order to interact with estrogen receptors. So we're more concerned with lowering SHBG and raising estradiol at this point than we are with testosterone. And to be honest your testosterone isn't that bad in comparison @ Testosterone 10.9 nmol/L, it'll go lower with using GTE, which inhibits DHT 98%. Plus, at 68 yrs old I'm not worried about your T.  Big Grin

Here's what I would do, and it's something that I've wanted to suggest to you for sometime. Start by taking Fenugreek with Green Tea Extract w/EGCG…if you've not read all the research I've posted on Fenugreek and GTE (green tea extract) you'll find the information located in the x-thread. Use the search option at the bottom of each page to locate all the articles I've posted. Mainly why I suggest FG (fenugreek) is how it and GTE lowers SHBG lowers SHBG and promotes aromatase…both of which you need help with.

The science of SHBG goes well beyond what I'm explaining here, you can also use the Breastnexum main search options for SHBG and type my name under users and search only under "posts" and see all the posts I've made under the topic of SHBG…which I just checked there's 13 pages (and probably 100's of posts?)  Blush

RE: Back Again - IanW55 - 16-02-2023

Hello,

Can anyone please tell me how long does PM & RR stay in the system once you stop taking it, it will be 2 weeks on the 20 FEb since I stopped, my reason for asking I do not want to start something else until I know my system is cleared.

Thanks

Hello Liz

We talk about half-life for drugs, that is to say that the drug loses its effectiveness every day of a certain value.
Considering pueraria mirifica is a phytoestrogen, it takes 24-36 hours to become undetectable.
I think you have nothing left in the body.

Search parameter "PM half life" resulted in this very interesting article..
https://bmcpharmacoltoxicol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40360-018-0216-3
This was a rat study.
A breastnexum posting: https://www.breastnexum.com/showthread.php?tid=14002
Posting comment:  I just found a research paper that talks about the Half-life of Miroestrol which I believe is the key phyto-estrogenic compund in PM. It stated that the Half-life of Miroestrol is 3.2 hours in women and 4.2 hours in men.
About 7 half-life is enough time for a compound to be considered "gone" from your system (less than 1%).

Hi,

Thank you both for your replies, so Monday is 2 weeks, based upon your information I will certainly have nothing left, must admit I am feeling a lot better, will be starting a method over the weekend and i will upload some photos and an explain what I am taking.

Some of what I will be taking is from Lotus reply to my post, but again will expand over the weekend.

From the Reddit MTF HRT subreddits, I believe you want SHBG to be below 115 nmol/L, and if above that, you need too reduce your E dosage to make SHBG drop to a proper level.

I know SHBG levels are changed by both E and T, but since, normally, we are trying to lower T and raise E, I would think that lowering the E dosage is the thing to do...

RE: Back Again - IanW55 - 17-02-2023

Hi,

Going back to my SHBG readings, though I am not a medical person I was concerned that there was something wrong so I contacted Medichecks who did the blood test and asked this quetion.

In November my reading was 25 now in February it is 170+ how can this be, they sent this question to their medical team who agree it is odd and would it not normally go up that fast in 3 months.

Even my daughter who has been nursing for 27 yeras said something is wrong so I told them this and they have sent me another test kit (arrived today) free of charge, their answer was it looks as though the test has got corrupted, so will send it off to them on Monday and see what comes back, obviouslt will keep you all informed
