follicly challenged - jannet.duff - 01-06-2016

I know some of us are follicly challenged, here is a trick going on over at the facebook HRT forum.

2 biotin tabs daily, and rub the progesterone oil on your scalp at night.

Does it work?

Well, lots of positive reviews. I already take biotin and have ordered two bottles of the oil. So we will find out.

I can see the bit about progesterone, however, I would be worried about the oil itself, clogging pores? perhaps the oil is not heavy enough to do so.

Well, I understand the mechanisms...
Progesterone blocks DHT, so this will stop DHT from binding to the hair follicles.
Rubbing will also add to circulation, bringing nutrients to the hair.

I just wish we had more resources, myself. Time, money, and... Follicles! ;-)

Got bad receded hairline here. Progesterone won't bring it back. :-(

I did read at one time, the assumption is your follicles are not actually dead, they are plugged with DHT. If you can clear the DHT from the follicles they should start to grow again. I ordered a few bottles to try this out. The $$$ amount is not too bad, but the chance of gaining some more hair is worth it. At least for me anyway. ( I'll agree I am part of the older group here ? but it's worth it even if it just slows more loss down )

I've been using dutasteride for a year or so, and GTE for about 3 months, and my hair loss slowed down a lot. However, I have not noticed any renewed growth from receded hairline or thin hair areas.

Same here, I just hope the progesterone oil is the magic bullet. I'll know before the end of the summer, and let everyone know how it goes.

Please do, and good luck. I'd love to get it all back!
