Spironolactone or Finasteride? - Penny63 - 31-08-2015

Which is the better anti-androgen to use. I have the spiro, but was wondering if finasteride would be better?

Neither is anti-estrogen, they are used to fight testosterone and DHT.

DHT is what give's men secondary sex characteristics and in some cases scalp hair loss. T, is the base for all of men's sexual characteristics like development of Penis, and less body fat and high libido.

Do you homework, lesson one is Anti Androgens

I wondered, but......

I take 5mg of Finn for hair loss. Or at least that is the premise I presented to my Doctor..... Spiro, cause my blood pressure was not behaving.. One day it was good, the next day real high. That's the reason I am taking 25mg of Spiro.

I also think that is why I had a nice growth spike in the last month or so..

I have since, been up dosage to 50 Spiro. I have noticed that before all of this, I shaved everyday while I was working, and even during retirement I shaved every other day. Now, for the same beard growth, it's like 4 days before shaving at the same "shaggy" level. LOL So, something must be working.

But, I don't think my scalp hair is going to make a come back.

Do you also take PM with finasteride? I was wondering if there might be interactions between these two. I like the idea that fin can sort out mpb but am afraid of any extra side-effects while taking PM.

Before I even got on Finn and Spiro, I always took it easy.

Right now, I am using the extract. According to Ainterol, 3 drops = 1 500 milligram capsule. And using it sublingually, I am getting about 80% of it in my blood stream as opposed to like 40 - 60% with the capsule.

I do the equivalent of 1500mg, or 9 drops per day broke over 2 0r 3 doses.

So far, no problems.. As far as Erectile Dysfunction, I have had that since before my heart attack, so no matter.

The other option is Androcur. That is what my endo has me on. I think it has less side effects than the others although you do have to watch out for liver damage while you are on it.

It is effective. At my last blood test, my T levels were at the bottom of the normal range for a female.

On Spiro, I have to have my Sodium and liver checked thru blood work, so.....
