How do I show myself invisible. I checked the one that said dont show me on the online list and it didnt work I dont think my username is showing but with an astrik..??

You can't make yourself invisible to yourself, you can only make yourself invisible to others.

Yes I know that but how do you do it and how do I know if it worked.. where do you switch it to invisible.. where I said I tried?

If you're invisible your name is shown with an asterisk by it, as you noted above. You can easily switch the function on and off to demonstrate this.
