Teaching myself to make martinis...

And here's my first shot a classic vodka martini!

Wasn't easy to find smaller glasses (most martini glasses are too big, more fit for cosmos than classic cocktails). Found these at a vintage store by me.

Chill martini glass with some ice.

To a chilled shaker with ice add vodka or gin. I shake for a more "effervescent" martini or stir for a "smoother" one.

Take the glass, dump out the ice, and add some chilled vermouth. Pour and swirl.

Dump out the vermouth, add the contents of the shaker. I prefer olives. Enjoy! Big Grin
I was surprised how much I liked the traditional gin & olives version as well.

Funny, just made a martini inspired appetizer for a BBQ/pool party tonight that has soppressata, irish cheddar, a stuffed olives and finished with a hint of vermouth. Not sure how it's going to come out, but I like the individual ingredients.

lol for those who do not know.. that was a james bond reference Tongue
In Casino Royale, Bond is asked "Shaken or stirred?" and he replies, "Do I look like I give a damn." Smile

Trivia question: He creates an iconic cocktail in that film...what was it called...
Well, the martini inspired appetizer was a hit because there's non left! And there were plenty of other treats to nibble on.
