After all the time I've put into this, after all the money I've dumped on it, all the resources... wasted. All for nothing. It's over. I just can't do this anymore.

I went to the pharmacy to pick up my refill of estradiol today, and the lady at the counter informed me there was a "price change" on my prescription.

The cost of my HRT has DOUBLED. As if it weren't expensive enough already, Big Pharma has become even greedier. I didn't think that was even possible.

Game Over.

I think you should just go on Ainterol PM. It's cheap enough. May start with 2 in the morning and 2 at night. Then after a while, 2 at lunch. Keep trying! Smile
I used Ainterol's PM before, and I switched to HRT mainly because HRT was cheaper. Even with the doubling of cost, it's still cheaper than PM. Sad

Yeah... Thank the democrats. Because when you put a gun to someone's had and force them to buy something, the price goes down, right? Like auto insurance...
So now since you couldn't afford the insurance, you still can't afford it - AND you'll get hit with a "tax" if you don't buy insurance. Which costs as much as the insurance. And the "insurance" doesn't guarantee medical coverage -you STILL pay out of pocket first, and eventually get coverage to kick in.
I have insurance, $300/month I think it is. I have a $10,000 deductible, too - the first $10k comes out of my pocket. So $13,600 comes from me before insurance covers a dime....

Republicans are at least a type of evil I understand. I can deal with them, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson set me up for that....

That's so wrong, do you not have other revenues you can get the HRT from?.

Presently I have no idea what my HRT is going to cost ( when the time comes ) I just hope I am not going through all this trouble to find outci cannot afford my medication.
Gamer,

Why not ask for a cheaper alternative?. Either speak with the insurance or the PCP that's treating you?. Or........find another insurance company.

Have you checked out Walmart? 90 2mg estradiol tablets for $10. I don't know how they handle doubling or tripling the prescription.
That's a good point from Lotus and Wendy .. Maybe even go back to your health provider and see if they can come up with a few free samples every once in a while.

That's not over the counter, is it???
Its not big Pharma, but the insurance companies.
Think about it.
Mandatory car insurance,
now in the US Mandatory health insurance, which by the way ran the affordable insurance companies out of business.
Dental insurance,
Optical insurance,
Life insurance,
Home insurance,
Pet insurance.
On and on, someday, someone will figure out its the insurance companies that are pulling the American, (and probably international) strings.
