Hi everyone! I hope it is ok for me to post here. I thought maybe those of you who were born male might be able to tell me some about my situation. Read:
Hi everyone. I was born female and want to stay female, just to clarify, I don't want my male hormones to throw anyone off. I have PCOS and I am told my only imbalances are high DHEA (three times what it is supposed to be), Insulin resistance and I don't ovulate regularly, so I would assume that my estrogen is high in ratio to progesterone.
I also feel like I may have a thyroid block due to high estrogen resulting in hypothyroidism. I don't know about the thyroid thing for sure, so let's just leave that part out of the equation and you can address it separately if you want to. I'm going to post my thread under a few categories, because I really need all of the advice I can get.
Anyway, I have tuberous breasts that are less than an AA cup and probably less than an AAA, but I have never seen the latter, so I'm not sure. They are really bad, though.
Does anybody know why this happened to me? I feel like is must be the DHEA. I have black hirsutism and I am naturally blonde. I also have acne and hold all of my weight in my stomach. If I am able to lower my DHEA, do you think my body will start accumulating fat in feminine areas such as my butt and breasts? Do you think my breasts will bottom out with the DHEA lowered?
What kind of herbs should I take? All of the usual seem bad for my situation, because they all seem to raise or act like estrogen which I have too much of and too much turns into male hormones which I definitely do not want! Does Goat's Rue really raise estrogen? Does Saw Palmetto lower DHEA or only testosterone? Does it raise estrogen? Does anything in this world lower DHEA? It seems everything only lowers testosterone!
I really don't know much of anything about this, so please inform me all that you can.
Hello phaedra.

Welcome to the bio-male section of the forum! Smile

Have you tried progesterone cream? That may help with balancing your estrogen/progesterone levels.

I think PCOS has been discussed before in the bio-male subforums, but I'm at a loss of remembering the name of the thread or the members involved.

I might be a dunce, but I think I am replying to you, so hopefully so. First, thank you for replying to me. I can't get anyone to help me figure this out! I am so depressed over my breasts and I am grieving so hard it is ruining my life. I need to know what to do. I just don't understand how men can grow breasts, but I can't. Although, I haven't ever been successful at getting my DHEA down that I know of (I was put on Yaz for a while, but quit due to side effects. I wasn't retested during this period), so maybe I don't really know if I can. Isn't it the same concept? Males lower their androgens to raise female hormones? Doesn't it make sense that my breasts think I am male and are suppressed by the DHEA, so they don't respond to estrogen/progesterone? In this case, if the DHEA was lowered do you think that I could still grow breasts that bottom out at age 22? Because although I've already been through puberty, I haven't had the chance to allow my female hormones to act on my breasts, right? Ugh, I'm so confused. I hope you see this comment and thanks for replying.
Spearmint and some drugs might be useful.

HI luv!! First off, don't ever be discouraged!! The thing I've noticed around here is mind OVER matter - believe that you ARE growing your breasts larger, and you inevitably will! =]

First off, I'm not too sure what DHEA is... some insight please?

Second, if you are E-dominant, & have taken Birth control before, or are still on some kind of bc, I recommend Depo Provera Progesterone Only -its a birth control Shot you get every 3 months... maybe this will help balance out all that estrogen in you... i was also E-dom & have been on the shot for about 1 & 1/2 months ...i think its too early to tell if its leveling me out or not, but we'll see =]

Look into getting a Noogleberry (NB)... they may be pricey (not sure about your income), but I will swear by NB. it has helped my boobs become rounder, and closer together -- if you don't want to mess w/ herbs because of your hormone levels right now, just start noogling to "awaken" your boobies!! =D

since you say you hold all your weight in your stomach, your cortisol levels must be high ???? cortisol is a hormone thats EVIL!!!! & packs on the fat mainly in the abdominal area. don't stress out so much baby doll!! xoxx (i know easier said than done)

also, MASSAGE & DO HYPNOSIS/AFFIRMATIONS!!!! these are seriously somewhat annoying (to me lol), but I'm telling you, they WORK. so many people on here have swore by them. & i myself am noticing a difference.
i massage my stomach, back, and arm fat into my breasts. My arms & back fat are seriously getting more toned, and i swear I'm noticing my tummy fat is making its way up towards my breasts - my tummy fat used to be below my waist, but now a lot of it is going above my waist, so I DEFINITELY KNOW that this massaging thing is working (i massage w/ coca butter lotion for about 5-10 min before noogling; got the lotion @ walmart.)

ANNYYYWAYYSSS i hope i gave you some hope?????
please remember to be kind to yourself, and stay positive! I know its hard, especially when things take forever to go your way, etc. but patience is KEY, especially with breast growth !!

MUCH LOVEE HUN!!!!!!! XXOXOXOXO

To answer your question about why males can grow breasts but you can't, I think it's because PCOS is more of an obstacle to overcome than a mere lack of feminine hormones. You already have the necessary hormones, but for some reason your breasts aren't being responsive to them.

Yes, I think it's possible to develop breasts at age 22 or later. I started NBE at age 25 and I got some decent results. Other bio-males have started at a later age and have also achieved some growth.

Thanks for all of the positive encouragement.
DHEA is an androgen which causes the same symptoms as testosterone. I'm sure this is the main reason I'm screwed.

As far as "mind over matter" I don't really think that helps at all. I believed for many years that I would surely develop before I was 18 and I never did. It really doesn't matter how you feel about it.

I have tried massaging before and it's difficult and it doesn't work at all. It's difficult, because I have no under-boob to massage. It doesn't make my breasts fuller or swell at all.

Thanks for all of your kind words, and I don't mean to shoot you down. I'm just hoping if anyone sees this that those things haven't worked for me yet and I need something new.

Also, I don't think noogleberry would work for me, because I'm very sensitive to bruises/busted blood vessels and I have very little to offer which means the pulling would be really sever/intense.

I need a better way! Someone please help!

As far as my imbalances go, I feel like I should work the same way as a male. Although I do have female amounts of estrogen I have hardly any progesterone. Plus, with the DHEA being so high it suppresses the estrogen from working on my breasts. So then why is it if I were to lower my DHEA I couldn't reasonably expect to grow breasts at my age (22)? I'm not saying anyone here said that I couldn't expect to grow my breasts, but that is what I'm finding with women in my situation. Someone show me a woman other than Anastasia who was truly able to have success with growing/correcting shape moderate to sever tuberous breasts! I haven't found a single woman anywhere on the internet! No offense to Anastasia but compared to myself and similar girls it offends me and makes me feel invalid that she classifies her before as tuberous. I'm not saying she wasn't tuberous, I'm just saying it hurts my feelings, because she was really well off to be tuberous, I think.

Phaedra,

If you want to try a bio-male's approach to NBE, I can give you some pointers.

In addition to breast development, I've found PM to be effective with redistributing fat to my buttocks. I use calcium supplements and PABA to increase the effectiveness of PM.

With anti-androgens I would suggest using spearmint. I've used the capsule form, not the tea form. Spearmint has been used to treat hirsutsim. As a bio-male, spearmint does an excellent job of minimizing my libido.

I'm currently giving Blessed Thistle a trial run. I think it's helped with filling out my breasts more.

Spearmint must be a really effective anti-androgen then! I was really doubting it. Is there a reason you do capsule other than taste? Have you ever had blood tests to see your androgen levels before and after the spearmint or do you just go off of visual results? I'm just wondering, because I was curious if your testosterone alone went down or if your DHEA also went down. I am going to look into PM & Blessed Thistle some more. Thank you for this advice it was very helpful and kind of you!

I use capsules for convenience. They're fast, easy to ingest and can be used when I'm away from home.

No, I haven't done any blood tests. There might be other bio-males though who use spearmint and have gotten their androgen levels tested. I base my experience with spearmint on how my libido and sexual functionality declines when I use spearmint.
