OK so I decided to try weighing a typical spoon full of PM with my gunpowder scale... Its extremely accurate but it measures in grains....
A typical loose powdered PM dose Ive been taking weighs 6 grains, a HEAPING spoon full...
An online conversion calculator says 6 grains is 389 mg... 389 X 6 = 2334 mg
So I guess I can up the PM from where Im at now and Im not on as much PM as I thought I was
Now what is interesting is on the container from Ainterol it says one of the little spoonfuls is 250 MG.... WTF is a "spoonfull" though
Its about 2 grains according to the reloading scale which converts to 129 MG....
I tried a few calculators and they are all the same, heres the math....
1 Grain in Milligram = 64.79891 mg
So we are obviously gonna need a bigger spoon
I mean it gets kinda nutty having to constantly take these little spoon fulls of PM like some kind of fiend LOL
Nice little stainless 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon leveled off = 12 grains...
that converts to 777 mg PM X 4 = 3108 mg...
So thats gonna be the new plan
OK so I just emptied a 500 MG PM capsule... Its 5.5 grains of PM powder...
Thats 356 MG according to this calculation, clear as mud
So 5.5 X 6 = 33 grains or 2138 MG.... OR 3000 MG according to Ainterol....
Off to find the perfect little spoon, giggles
OR 3 leveled of 1/4 tsp = 36 grains about the same amount of pm as 6 500 mg capsules AT 33 grains....
Very cool. I always wondered how accurate the pills and that little spoon was. I never thought to use a gun powder scale.
It would make sense that they short you in the pills because no one normally opens and checks them. And am I right in understanding that the spoon for the loose powder actually gives you more than the 250mgs it says on the tin? If so it all makes sense from a sales perspective, because they want you to go through the bulk stuff faster.
Well I guess it depends on what constitutes a "spoon full"...
A leveled off spoon full is 1.6 grains or 104 MG I guess a somewhat heaping spoon full would be about 250 MG...
But the capsule according to my scale is only 356 MG
Im just trying to get some consistency with my doses and match the amount I take with the amount of powder in the capsules...
I can tell you the powder in the caps looks and tastes exactly the same as the bulk powder.... The bulk powder is much cheaper though
I pack my own gel caps with 500 mg of PM powder 100 capsules at a time. I completely fill both halves of a "00" capsule and slide them together. Comes out exactly 500 mg net on the scale. That gives me 400 capsules from a single 200 gram bottle of the Ainterol R1 powder for less than $40. It's a much more accurate way to determine your dosage.

Also keep in mind 1 grain is a VERY small amount of PM powder...
A gun powder scale has to be very accurate because an extra grain of gun powder in some bullet loads is enough to blow up the gun...
Im not sure that kind of accuracy is nearly as important with PM powder
