This seems to be a common question asked by bio-males new to this site, so here are some comments from my experience, since I have likely pushed this whole process about as far now as anyone.
The short answer is yes... eventually...probably.

Keep in mind that herbal NBE is a form of the same exact process involved in synthetic hormone HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), or as it is commonly referred to in the TG world, "transitioning."

To be clear, "transitioning is a slow process, and is not the same thing as a "sex change", although the two are related. Normally the one (transitioning) leads to the other (Gender Reassignment Surgery or GRS). But that is not always the case, especially today. Some bio males opt to remain in one stage or another of the HRT transitioning stage forever and never proceed to GRT. Some prefer to keep their "boi bits" while developing other aspects of femininity.
Essentially, males grow breasts and feminize their bio male bodies by reducing Testosterone and increasing Estrogen.
That's it.
Taken far enough, this process will lead to what is called Hypogonadism. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypogonadism)
When this occurs in a male, the testicles atrophy over time, and stop performing. Infertility will eventually occur. Even the penis may shrivel somewhat and diminish in size.
This is what occurs through synthetic HRT.
When we begin on herbal breast enhancement (HBE), we are basically doing the same thing, though through the use of over the counter herbs rather than prescription required synthetic chemicals. The herbs are weaker than the synthetic drugs, but the process is the same. We are reducing T and increasing E. It is the same thing, only it takes longer, and requires more patience and know how, and it is completely private and within our control since no doctors or therapists are needed.
But just the same, without precautions, impotence and infertility will eventually most likely result.
Of course many factors play a part in all of this. Age is a big factor. As males grow older, the body normally stops producing as much T and compensates by increasing E, all quite naturally. This is why viagra is so popular among males of a certain age. In some ways older males start this process ahead of the game.
On the other hand, older males also observe a decline in natural production of Human Growth Hormone (HGH). Since HGH is also required for breast growth, older males face a setback in this department.
Breasts normally grow the most in pubescent bio females. HRT is an attempt to simulate a new feminine puberty in bio males. The older the male, normally the harder it is for this to occur.

Still, it can and does occur in many.

Now, to describe my case.

I began on PM at the age of 57. Through the next 3 1/2 years I progressed through various amounts reaching a plateau of 3000 to 4000 mgs, daily, along with approximately 500-600 mgs of Saw Palmetto. Ostensibly, the PM acted to increase my E, while the SP acted to reduce my T.
So, what did this do to my male function?
At first, nothing,
For at least a year or more there was no difference.
In the second year at some point I began to observe a change in my emission. The liquid changed over time from thick and creamy, slowly, to a thin clear fluid.
During this time it became more difficult, though not impossible, to attain erections, and my desire began to wane.
During the next year the amount of emission began to decline.
By somewhere in year three, the amount had declined to very little. Eventually, there was no emission at all. Among some TG girls this is referred to as "shooting blanks".
As this occurred, my desire for sexual release declined to virtually non existent.
Today, nearly four years into this process, my testosterone measures at roughly the same a bio woman, well below the normal male range even for a man of my age.
A recent series of tests by an endocrinologist confirmed these findings.
Since I already have children, and since I had enjoyed my male bits to an extreme in the previous years (not meaning to brag... well, maybe a little...tee hee), and since it is my desire to pursue feminization as far as possible short of GRS, I am quite comfortable with this. However, for the sake of curiosity, when consulting with my endocrinologist, I asked if this condition (erectile dysfunction) was irreversibly permanent. I was told "no" that is was reversible through testosterone supplements, should I so desire. I did not ask about the state of my fertility, so that question remains unanswered in my mind. It is of no consequence to me since with two almost grown offspring (17 and 21) I consider myself well beyond wanting anything else to do with producing offspring. But, obviously, this may well be of consequence to younger bio males still potentially interested in one day fathering children. I would advise such bio males to take the precaution of freezing some sperm either prior to beginning NBE or early in the process.
Now is this the only possible outcome?
Of course not.
Many members, while on a program of NBE, attempt to forestall impotence by taking regular short breaks to allow their T to rebuild. This seems to work for many. Others, perhaps mostly younger, but certainly those with a higher natural T count, may take much longer than I did to reach this point.
Lower dosage amounts of herbal E will also lengthen the time frame, perhaps indefinitely.
But do understand. Taken far enough, the results are almost certainly going to be the same.
Just as all new members are encouraged to think long and hard about how they will actually deal with the reality of large breasts should they successfully grow them, new members contemplating this program should also be well aware that they are following what is by nature the very same path as those on synthetic HRT, and that impotence and loss of male function is a very likely eventual result.
Of course... I am no a doctor (though I have played several on television...tee hee...really). Your results may vary.Tongue

That's a great post, Sammie! Even though my route to the same point may have involved a degree of connivance on my part, after initial lack of success with NBE, in making use of unintended side effects of a doctor's prescriptions (I'm assuming that her oddities did not extend to opportunistic deliberate chemical castration of male patients), the overall progression sounds very similar. We visited our NP yesterday, and somewhat to my surprise my wife raised the subject of my breast development, I think to prevent the NP sliding sideways away from the subject as she did during our last session. At any rate, I was able this time to get her (the NP) to order some hormone tests. The next problem will be to extract the results!
Thank you for that well written posting about one of the most frequently asked questions, Sammie.

What I find amazing about NBE is not so much that I've lost my spontaneous erections (morning wood, arousal response, etc.), but that I've lost my desire to have erections.

For those who want to maintain some male function by taking regular NBE breaks, I've found that taking Butea Superba and L'Arginine helps. Erections are achievable during my breaks, but usually require a bit of coaxing. ED drugs like Viagra and Cialis are also very helpful "when the moment is right" as they say. Tongue

True enough, Clara. But the loss of emission should be kept in mind. It should be well remembered by all who tread this path. Chemical castration is not something to be taken lightly...tee hee.
Perhaps this isn't the place/thread for this turn in the topic but it is something I've been curious about for some time.

I am very new to this forum and I'm still learning about the diversity of "gender". You see, I started my NBE from a desire to have large breasts but remain male in identity and function. I've been taking herbs for ~7 months and developing slowly (using Flat2Fem program and a noogleberry too). I have noticed some of the mild forms of the signs you've described here.

I am terribly uninformed about this "transitioning". I have read enough biology to realize this is an eventual end of any E+/T- setup. What I've not found is views on the adaptation of the sexual side of human needs.

I find it difficult to believe a person would wish to never be sexually aroused or experience orgasms. Thus when ED becomes a reality for a NBE pursuer, I expect to see some sort of adaptation. I know from personal experience thus far that a different arousal is possible since my breasts have continued to mature.

So, I am curious if this has happened to others. Has there been an adapation to other forms of sexuality? Or has personal interest in sexual activity in *any* form has approached zero desire?

I have a few lady friends who were willing to talk frankly about their sexual arousal states and emotions. This new "facility" I've found within myself seems similar to theirs. So even if/when I end my male functionality, I am thinking sexuality hasn't "ended" as this thread seems to suggest.

Any thoughts?

No, you're right that sexuality doesn't end, although compared to our pre-NBE sexuality with its daily urges to engage in sexual fantasy if not the physical act itself, it seems like it sometimes. The sexual stirrings you are very likely to experience on NBE are going to be similar in nature to those of many women as testosterone levels are reduced to near female levels. Face it, sex drive comes from testosterone in both men and women - the less you have, the less you are inclined to have spontaneous sexual urges.

Erectile dysfunction is usually a source of anxiety for men when the desire to have sexual intercourse is combined with the inability to reliably carry through with the sex act. When the sexual urges diminish, so does the anxiety. But that doesn't mean one loses all interest in sex. It means that you'll most likely need loving physical contact to trigger sexual arousal. Spontaneous erections are not possible when taking PM for awhile. It takes a week off the herbs for them to return. If you want to experience this uniquely male behavior, and insure that your male plumbing is not irreparably damaged, you should take regular week-long breaks from NBE. You will not undo your breast growth by doing this, although it may slow it down some.

NBE quite possibly will move your focus of erotic stimulation from your penis to your breasts (nipples). Some have even reported the ability to induce nipple orgasms. You may discover how it's possible to prolong the pleasurable feelings from erotic breast stimulation like you never could with prostate orgasms.

No, NBE will not turn you into an asexual person, but be prepared for some rather radical changes in your sexuality.

Its strange because pueraria seems to make women more horny.
Thanks for the honest reply, Clara. My small experiences thus far definitely seem similar. When I started my NBE, I couldn't imagine a less "conventional" way of sex and sexuality for myself. However, I am beginning to see how alternatives could be found/used.

I've been trolling over Samantha's threads and finding a bit of myself reflected in those pages. I can see I have alot to learn and some choices to make which aren't as clear cut as I initially felt when I started.

As for sexual drive, T isn't the only factor from what I've read and I've found using progestrone cream gives me a jolt in the arousal department. Indeed, I going to start my 2 week cycle of it this weekend and enduring those "urges" you spoke of. Smile

I am considering switching to a PM based program. I really want those breasts but as other features of my body have feminized a bit; I am finding I like them too.

LOL..."trolling over Samantha's threads" sounds somewhat kinky...tee hee

Honey, once you start down this path you have to be prepared for anything, because once the changes start to happen you will have no idea where the path may end up taking you.Wink

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall that one of the effects of progesterone cream (PC) is to convert estrogen into testosterone which is why it is used to treat estrogen dominance. That could explain the 'jolt' you experienced.
