I purposely stopped PM for about 30 days before I went to my GD. I wanted a true baseline for him to start his magic. I was on .050 patches to begin with and lost breast as well. It took 2 months then BOINGGG It seemed like overnight, they sprang back up.
I asked him about it, he suggested that since I was taking pseudo Estrogen, that it took quite a bit for the Estrogen to start up.... It had to get into the receptors of the cells and displace the PM. Hence the loss of tissue and the time it took to start seeing results. Made sense to me, especially after looking at a lot of Lotus's research and musings.
Estradiol is about 20 times more potent than the Estrogenic effects of Soy, so figure out the math, that makes Pharma E about 8 - 10 x stronger than PM.

Not sure if a agree that pharma is that much stronger
On pharma I am growing but simply do not seem to have the
Same t reduction
Pm could shut all action downstairs quite fast
Pharma has no effect at moment

everyone's plumbing is different.... 1st started with .050 patch for 2 months, then raised to full .100 at about 3rd month. My growth picked up at the tail end of the 8th week, but my T was still about 180. That's when the GD put me on a full dose patch and 10mg of Progesterone. I had an immediate growth spurt , but it hit a plateau. He then stepped me to .150 worth of patches after 2 months. But my Estro was only about 80 and my T was 5. He then put me on 2 patches total dose rate of .200 . I went from a 38 loose B to a solid 38 C, loose D cup. BUT, I think I'm at another plateau.
PM has both plant Estrogenic properties as well as AA. But, it's very weak compared to the normal startup dosage of 2mg oral, or .050 patches. Wish I could find the comparison white page I would post it... It game approximate strength between plant estrogen , pharma grade and patches...I think it was from either the Mayo Clinic, or John Hopkins.. I will have to keep looking.

seriously though, she needs to be treated as a whole person too with all the aspects that Any person requires to be addressed. One of those will eventually be the need to Socialise as well.
when i forst started my transition it was all about Gender, and when I`d got all the other aspects of that covered more or less, I became lonely, I needed friends! not just the friends that i had, but friendships and connection with other women, I have that now, but at the time it was probably the most upsetting part of the whole thing, here I was gender free but at the same time still a prisoner socially.
so what started out about being just about gender, soon became about so much more than that! now i rarely even think about the gender side of things.
Making it all about "boobs" keeps it contained and controllable, just a single aspect that can be dealt with easily, sort of our brains way of not putting too much pressure on us in one go, still moving forwards in the direction it kbows it needs to go, but at the same time keeping it managable.

Katie, that is very true and now I really need to think through that myself. as I;ve briefly discussed on another forum, I'm at an impass right now in my HRT. A part of me wants to keep going as it is encouraged by the changes and another is wanting t ostop and re-evaluate due to a variety of reasons, a lot of them mostly personal.
