I understand the problem with names like shemale, tranny and chicks with dicks, but what is wrong with transexual?

Quote:Transsexualism is when an individual identifies with a gender inconsistent or not culturally associated with their assigned sex, i.e. in which a person's assigned sex at birth conflicts with their psychological gender. A medical diagnosis can be made if a person experiences discomfort as a result of a desire to be a member of the opposite gender, or if a person experiences impaired functioning or distress as a result of that gender identification.
wikipedia.org/

Quote:Definition of TRANSSEXUAL: a person who strongly identifies with the opposite sex and may seek to live as a member of this sex especially by undergoing surgery and hormone therapy to obtain the necessary physical appearance (as by changing the external sex organs)
merriam-webster.com

Transsexual
A term referring to a person who does not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth and wishes, whether successful or not, to realign their gender and their sex through use of medical intervention.

Transgender
An umbrella term that refers to those with identities that cross over, move between, or otherwise challenge the socially constructed border between the genders. While this can include medical or social transition, it may not.

Sexual orientation is typically not relevant. Therefore Transgender and Transsexual people can be straight, gay, lesbian or bisexual.

There's nothing wrong with transsexual, it's just that I don't think it should be used to describe a guy with tits on porn sites and videos. To me, it's liked lying. I see the word, "transsexual", and I think of someone like my friend, Carla, she used to be a guy, now she's completely a woman. Then I go to see it and it's guys with tits having gay sex with another guy. It should be advertised as gay sex with a guy with tits, for that matter, a shemale. I have no problem with calling them a shemale. A guy who wants to present as a woman, but doesn't want to lose his dick. Okay, no problem there! I can respect that. I'm also not at all against gay sex or marriage.

As someone who is non-binary or kind of in the middle, it keeps sounding a little like you are invalidating and dismissing all less than full MTF, and NB/A. And the justly negative comments about the pornsites toxicity and offensiveness, are being directed also at the people who are in the middle of the gender spectrum.

Also, you are being extremely binary in your words, and making some extreme, potentially hurtful, and probably incorrect statements about people.

I know the OP was about pornsites, and we all agree they are bad. But I keep feeling like you are saying that there is no middle, and if you think you are in the middle you are a fake, that you are just a S****** or T***** at best. Or a deluded pervert at worst.

Please try to be a little less binary in how you say things. Several posts in this thread sound like it is being said that if you are not A, B and C, then you are not trans, or you are just gay (nothing wrong with that, just invalidating and inaccurate labels hurt!), or just a crossdresser.

Possibly, you're reading things I never intended into things I've said. It's happened a number of time before and I've done so, too, no matter how much I try not to. Everyone makes mistakes.
Nothing wrong those of us in the middle. I'm just saying that in the cases of porn sites, the labels are misleading. As I just said to the poster after this, they SHOULD be called, shemale.
Sorry if things sound/read as hurtful. I can ASSURE you there is ABSOLUETLY NO intention of being hurtful to anyone!! I'm QUITE supportive of gender variations.
Pornos and porn sites are those most guilty of the mislabeling, but they also, in using these terms incorrectly (as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure others transgendered or supportive of transgenders also think so), keep the general public who frequent them most from understanding what transgender means! I'm SURE that if you were to ask them, they nearly ALL say a transsexual is a fag/homo, or what ever other hurtful name you can think of of that kind. I should know, I work with a building full of people who think this way and they have NO qualms displaying it on a daily basis!! Sometimes, it's all I can do to not say anything about their hateful comments!! (TRUST me!! I HATE working there and AM looking for something else!!!! Anybody know of any places besides Chase bank that allow/support their male employees wearing femme attire?) Everyone out of THEIR norm (straight and white) are homos, fags and niggers. It's just like being back in the `50's!! So much for progress!! And, most of these people are in their early 20's to late 30's!!
S****** or T*****?? What are they?
Once again, it is HARD, if not impossible, to type inflection!! This is where MOST online conversing is misunderstood!! I've actually said something like, "Hi! How are you?", to someone online and they read it as something like, "I hate your mom and I want to fuck your dog!!" I'm SORRY if you've misunderstood/misread anything I've said, but there was not a MODICUM of malice in my entire body/mind/heart/soul when I wrote those words, other than for the misleading labels porn sites and the like, put on certain trans people. If you & I were discussing this face to face, I doubt you'd have any trouble understanding what I mean/say, other than when sometimes I have trouble latching onto the word I want to use.
Take care!!

Thanks for the follow up, I really didn't think you meant anything unpleasant. I am just super sensitive on the NB/MTA's getting dismissed and invalidated.

On another forum when I was first asking myself questions about my GD/GID situation, there was a allot of MTF comments that were very "Our path is the only path, all else is AGP and invalid..." It made me crush all my issues into a tiny box and not figure out what I needed to for years.

Eighteen years.

God, to have all this sussed when I was 21 as opposed to 39...

So now I am scrappy as heck about it. This is also why I waited till I could post reasonably calmly. : )

So all is well. : )

Yeah, that WOULD suck, having to force yourself into a tiny little box. But, as most, if not all of us here at least SHOULD know, there are MANY "flavours" of the TS world! Anybody that says it's all one thing and NOTHING else, doesn't know their hole from an ass in the ground!!

Add another reason to my list of reasons that I will not and do not have any thing to do with chase banking or any part of.

Why, because they allow male transgenders to present female?

A-ha!! I totally get what you mean and your post explains why I defend transsexual. The issue with chicks with dicks or shemale on porn sites Etc is problematic as the definition of transsexual simply does apply to them.

I also can't help but feel insulted at their wrong description when I feel inadequate as a transsexual myself yet I am working so very hard.

As I said A-ha in a post here is the best (in my opinion, as an old git) track by A-HA!!!

Quickly followed by Aerosmith and Dude (Looks Like A Lady)

Lol. Sorry had to be done. Lol.

P.S. Sorry for my whatsitmaflip but I'm celebrating with a 15 year old Glenmorangie single malt and it's 08:30 UK time and I need sleep. And I'm happy! Yay!!

What are you celebrating?
I was never a fan of old style Aerosmith, but I like the newer version. I guess you could say I don't like their Columbia years, but I do like their Geffen years.
The A-Ha song here hits me two ways. First off, that cheesy intro makes me hate the song and sort of the same goes for the "take on me" bits, but, the rest of it I like and it reminds me of one of the BEST times in my life!! The `80's!!!! LLLLLLLOVED IT!!!!!!! If I could go back in time, two eras I'd be SURE to hit frequently are the `60's and the `80''s!!!!!!!! It was GREAT growing up in the `60's and I loved the music, the t.v. shows, the movies and, despite the war and social upheaval, the general feel of the era!! The `80's: again, I loved the music at least as much as that of the `60's psychedelic era, a lot of the movies, a few of the t.v. shows, I finally made a lot of friends via college (had very few in high school or my young life) and my fans with the band that I'd just joined, I was FINALLY IN a band, we were doing some recording and had 2 albums out, I'd FINALLY gotten my first "girlfriend" AND got my first kiss, hand-hold, feel, and got laid the first time, all in the same night! The videos were great!! Most of the whole era was fantastic!!!! A good bit of heartbreak, too, but, mostly good memories!!
Anyway, even though I don't like that cheesy intro, the rest of the song takes me back to those great years!! :-) I'm having trouble NOT posting more great videos here!! Lol.

I'm celebrating a whole list of things. The darkness has lifted and I have beaten depression again. I am feeling happier, more confident and optimistic.

Got loads of work to do but it's no longer an impossible mountain to climb. Concentrating on each little job instead of panicking about the whole big picture. Progress is happening.

All the changes I've made so far, is helping my gender dysphoria and I've made an appointment to see my doctor about it.

I went to the local TG support group and didn't panic my tits off. Better yet I had fun and enjoyed myself. I'm confused how my social anxiety is lessoning when I don't feel the pressure to present as male.

Several years ago I copied my entire music collection on a portable hard drive. Earlier this year the drive stopped working. I've now managed to take it apart and fixed it enough to make copies. Saved weeks of work re-recording them all. Only lost about 40 tracks.

I run it through a laptop and into my Tecknics. I love all sorts of music.
