Ever been out in male mode and in the course of ordinary daily affairs happen to run into someone TG en femme?
Today, I was sitting in my car waiting to go in to see my therapist (tg specialty). Car pulls up next to mine. Young, probably teenaged girl in the passenger seat. Mom driving.
Something seemed odd. Lovely young girl with thick long very dark wavy hair, a somehat bubbly personality from what I could tell, transfixed with texting on her mobile...but with a lot of makeup on, much more than the average teenaged girl would wear anywhere except maybe prom.
So I walked into my therapists office and the two of them were in there. There had been a time mixup and I was early.
But my suspicion became immediately clear as accurate. Lovely young girl who I feel sure will have no trouble passing and transitioning easily, assuming that is what she wants. The only reason I suspected was the out of place heavy makeup and the location.
Made me stop to wonder if, despite being possessed of what I think to be pretty good "radar" for such things, just how many extremely passable tg girls I may miss on any given day.
Have you ever been completely surprised?

once or twice, have encountered some that you couldn't have been able to tell until they spoke (didn't work on their voice/speech much I guess).

that said I have also seen a few unfortunate ones that couldn't pass to save their lives....

I can't recall ever encountering a TS in public. But, I can't say I was on the lookout for them either. I was largely ignorant of the transgendered until maybe 5 or 6 years ago when I ran into 'shemales' on porn sights. Even then I had no real idea what being transgender was about. What an education I've gotten on that in the past year! And to learn that I'm one of them?!

All the time.... We have a number of local TG girls that are full time here and we cross paths a lot.... one of the more flamboyant ones made a fly through tell court house while I was on a jury pool... none of the other jurors had a clue she wasn't a she... lol.... we also have a good TG support group in Pittsburgh that has events... Ive never been mainly because I don't really need support... but ever so often I'll be out shopping and look up and theres someone enfemme... this area seems to be pretty accepting... as long as you wear something with Steelers colors... they don't care what you wear!

Oh, I just remembered an incident where I met a transwoman at work. I had no clue she was TS until one day during a coffee break she was talking about her days as a Navy fighter pilot! Even that didn't clue me in until later I realized that was before the Navy allowed women to fly combat aircraft. Other than being a bit on the husky side for a woman, she passed amazingly well.

When you started this thread, that was my thought exactly.

I don't really care to know. I think a person should have the right to decide their gender irrespective of their birth sex, and everyone should accept that decision without prejudice. I also think the ADA should be amended to require uni-sex restrooms like you see at a few campgrounds, travel stops, and stores. It's not possible for every TG to convincingly pass as the opposite sex in public, and to try to do so can be humiliating, if not dangerous.

Dream on, Clara.

Oh, Clara, don't get me wrong, honey. The last thing I would ever do is to show that I even noticed, regardless of presentation. But it always makes me feel kind of nice to silently note the presence of a kindred spirit.Shy
