Hiya,
(sorry for late reply, I wasn't around yesterday)
I have to say they seem to work downstairs. Much firmer than in the last 5-10 years... that in itself has an effect on libido. Interestingly, no effect on mental balance, and no uncontrollable urges to c-d or peruse porn.
I say "seem", because I started on maca just before they arrived.
If I want to be scientific, I should stop the maca. I'll probably do that later.
Anyway, the important thing is that four months in, I'm still me, except happier and a bit larger up top!

This sounded pretty interesting so I did a little digging.
I found this .... worth a read ...
http://www.buteasuperba.co.cc/
Especially this section towards the bottom ..... "However, you must be aware that a large dose, or prolonged use, is very toxic to the liver, and can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, low blood pressure, or a history of heart or liver disease, it is safest to leave the Viagra alone, and try the above tonic instead.
Use no more than two or three capsules of Butea Superba, depending upon your weight, height, and age, no more than once or twice per month, and only on a very occasional basis. "

Hi,
many thanks for that. It's a pity they didn't give any references for these assertions though.
According to this paper, BS isn't toxic to the liver.
http://www.tm.mahidol.ac.th/seameo/2002-...34-155.pdf
"Extensive research of its sub-chronic toxicity by Manosroi et al (2000) revealed that B. superba had no effect on liver and kidney function; moreover, the highest dose used (625mg/kg) tended to increase the number of epididymal sperm and significantly increased the rats’ testicular weight. These results seem to support the claims that B. superba promotes male sexual activity."
I'm also not 100% convinced by Dr Weil (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Weil#Criticisms)
but thanks anyway - I appreciate the thought!

just as small and perfectly formed as ever
Hey, why don't you try it and see if it makes a difference? (Not that you need it, I suppose).

I have to say, the Weil article is poorly written, especially the section where he talks about butea superba. In the very next sentence he talks about leaving Viagra alone and taking the "above tonic instead". As I read that section, I am unclear if the liver toxicity is from the Viagra or the b. superba. I haven't read much by Weil, but I am surprised at the writing in this article.
Just saying.......

Hi,
of course it's possible that this is just a spam-type site anyway and are attributing quotes to Weil that he never uttered. I did a search for "andrew weil" and "butea superba" and got no plausible hits.

Very good point. Will try a similar search. If it is a false attribution, than the poor writing makes much more sense. Always wise to be cautious with EVERYTHING found on the internet.
