Has anyone here been on hrt for at least a year ( myself, estrogen, spiro, finasteride, provera) and after having almost no T in their system stop taking the aa's?  I need to get off spiro.  I hear/read that enough E serum levels should be enough to suppress the T but wanted to find out if anyone has successfully done this?

I have not tried it myself yet, as my E serum levels are presently not high enough. Of you look into the Facebook HRT forum, that's one of the things they talk about.
As I comply with your requirements I'll suggest that spiro is superfluous, modern thinking is that Estradiol will suppress T without need for spiro. While I know we all respond differently, my own progress solely taking estradiol would seem to confirm this.
The supposed need for spiro dates back to times when much weaker forms of estrogen were all that was available.

How long has it been since you've been off spiro?
Stopping Spiro would be a pain for me as I seem to get strong withdrawals if I miss a dose.

Hi
I never started, started off on estradiol and have had pleasing results without any side effects that I have noticed. Not sure if results would have been any different with spironolactone.

On an HRT forum i am no, there is a strong camp that advocates not using spiro after the first 6 months as it serves no purpose because the estrogen dominance keeps the T levels in check and the bad effects spiro has on other bodily systems.  They did site some research but for the life of me i could not find those posts to share.   This is the same forum the poo poos NBE so take it for what it is worth.
If i were you, I would drop the Spiro for a month and see how you feel and what your T levels are and take it from there.

I wouldn't just drop spyro, your body will likely go into shock. You need to lower the dose slowly , say drop 50mg every few weeks or so.

Your body won't go into shock.  Typically there are no withdrawal symptoms from stopping spironolactone.  After 4 months I went from 100mg a day to 0 because I didn't want to deal with this drug any further.  That said it is always best to get the advice of your doctor prior to altering your medications. Of course if you are taking it for high blood pressure or congestive heart failure then stopping this drug could have serious negative effects.
