As most of you have seen some of my earlier musings, I will not bore you other than to say I thought my condition was "Late On-Set".  But, after having 2 doctor's, and a therapist, tell me I probably have been since before birth.  I guess I really have no choice but to accept that fact.

But, life like this really sucks...  Or in our English Cousin's parlance.....  It's bloody hell of a life.

Yes, I know there are tons of lists, thoughts from many more learned people than myself that extol the virtue of Transgenderism.  And, I suppose that is really good to some degree from us who might or has that subset of attributes.  But, lets face it.  It's not really like having a difference in eye color, shape of body....  , rather obese or rail thin.  It's more intrinsic and base than that.  I wish I could pass my duality off as JUST choosing one color of shirt over another.  But it's not.  It's, in a way, having to defy social "norms" and the way most of us was brought up.  It's more than being a Catholic one day, then waking up to be a Mormon or an Orthodox Jew or believing in the Koran.  (Although that change is soul and social changing by itself)

Lets face it, without having men and women co mingling, we as a civilization would NOT be here.  It's pure biology, if nothing else.  So, where does that leave most of us??  In a pickle, to use an American colloquialism.

Too bad we don't have a world that has one basic form of dress....  Like say the Scots or some of the other peoples that are on this blue world.  Kimono's would be a nice touch, or the Sarongs?  Although, I know we would still be "rebels" by glitzing it up, or wearing blings all over it! !  We would have to figure out how to stick our proverbial middle finger at society....  Would that NOT put us back here at our current state of unhappiness???

I consider myself to be a chameleon by what I choose to wear.  Much to the consternation and misgivings of my wife of 42yrs.  But we have a tacit set of rules we both try to abide by.  If I keep it out of our public life, she will keep her opinions to herself.  I just wished we could get to a place where she felt comfortable in being a willing fashion advisor when I am in a femme shopping frame of mind.

But, one could cross dress or be a chameleon with out wanting some of the physical characteristics.  I mean, you can buy padded panties, breast forms and some sort of a waist cincher. Right??  No, this is NOT a fetish to me.  It's more of who I am, or what I want to become.  It's simply is NOT a fetish.  And that is where the problem lays.

Then there is the associated problems with being in both worlds like me.  MONEY! !  You pay a premium for anything you wear that can be uni-sex in nature.  Like non cutsie blouses that don't have  flowers, kitty kats or such plastered all over them.  Just nice pastels or even solid colors that can accommodate boobs is either one or two sizes larger than what a person likes to wear in a man's shirt, or you have to put up with princess seems in blouses.  Both morally and monetarily expensive.  Morally because who among us like to wear clothing that a 200 lb man would have to wear, even when we may only be 150 lbs just to hide boobs.  Money wise cause a man can buy a real nice shirt for say $35 and a comparable blouse would be $45 - $50 or more.  Why????  I don't have a clue.

Then there are pants/slacks! ! For those of us starting to get a feminine shape you can no longer comfortably wear mens dress slacks.  By the time you have to buy a pair that maybe 2 or 3 sizes bigger to fit over your now feminine bum.  By the time you cinch your belt so they don't fall down and expose your panties...  You now look like a clown without white pancake makeup on.  And on the money side of it, it's still pretty true.  Women's slacks are not built for stain resistance, or long wear.  I have worn out 2 pairs of jeans made for women while NOT having to throw out a single still close fitting men's jeans.  On top of that! !   They're either the same price or more expensive than men's when you consider long wear, etc.

Then there's time spent and money on transforming ourselves.....  Have you woke up and realize how much time and money we all have wasted trying to get a more feminine shape???   Rather it's fake boobs and padded panties or being a purest by trying to transform our real bodies????

What a Bloody Life ! ! ! Angry

Anyways....  That's just a few of my thoughts.  I am sure some of your Gurls has other ones that you would  like to share.  Please do!

I'll bite on most of your ramblings !! Lol

I think you hit the nail on the head with cost now that I have not one, but two complete wardrobes to keep stocked, it can start to get a tad expensive, ( That's before we add in makeup and wigs and bras )
As for price, most of the places were I shop are the same for male or female clothes. Sure, I could go for some nice designer dresses at $300, but thats not for me. I do my shopping at bargin basement stores. Giant tiger ( Canadian Kmart type store ) walmart, and old navy. You would be surprised on how nice some $14.99 blouses can be, even nicer when they also include a cheap necklace.

Kmart and Walmart is where I look for bra's.  I figure, until I get where I want to go size and body wise, I would rather throw away a $10 bra than a $30 one.  Old Navy has great fitting jeans, but never seen many blouses that I would wear as I am not in public yet.

I have gotten some decent pieces  from Goodwill and Salvation Army thrift stores.  For many of the reasons I stated above.  But still, maintaining 2 complete wardrobes is at best though and money wise as  hard.

I love   goodwill . last week I picked up a pair of designer jeans for 5.99, a pair of black slacks for 5.99, and 2 tops for 4.99 Each! obviously you have to look at everything closely for flaws, but bargains are to be had !
whilst I don`t have to maintain 2 wardrobes anymore, for a while I did, and I found that if you can buy just 1 item a week everyweek it soon mounts up!
and you get to spread your wardrobe over the seasons too, which is really nice and much better than blowing a whole wad of cash in one go and then having nothing for autumn of winter wear etc...

concentrate on single items that can go with your other things to make a whole new outfit rather than buying complete new outfits at a time. it also helps when you develop your own personal style too, it helps filter out many things you Might buy but would be a mistake Smile

aim for Comfortable shoes too, a couple of pairs of sensible heels are fine, but comfy shoes will be your smartest purchase Wink

also buying scarves is a great way to re-invent an old outfit or top, and they don`t cost much.
Phew Iaboy!
You gotta stop thinking so hard!
So just think how safe and BORING life would be without our femme side.
How many guys do you know that can really love getting dressed up in their 'manly clothes'
We have it made! Personally I never gave much of rats patuutie about my everyday appearance, shave, no shave, dirty shirt, dirtier shirt.
pants too tight, pants too loose. does my shirt match my pants, tie, socks, belt. The only time it mattered was when I was in pursuit of a lass.

NOW however I spend a tonne of time between shower and the last bit of lipstick and I can look in the mirror and thank the gods above that at 67 I look pretty damn good and would be really interested in someone that looked like me. But then I am biased.

As for clothes, I never shopped more than 5 minutes in a clothes store. Now its an hour+ to check out the clearance racks and what new stuff has come in. AND I LOVE IT. I do find a lot of very affordable nice clothes at Walmart, and the thrift stores. I'm basically frugal by nature and rarely pay more than $20 for one piece of clothing. And my closet has so many dresses, skirts and tops I dont have room for any more. Since I am retires now I'm looking to start Ebay-ing my brook brothers stuff since I dont see me wearing many of them in my future.

But I LOVE IT, I think I mentioned that but I love the big deep smile I get when I get out of the shower, and my much different breasts are there, WOW.
And when I'm done dressing and walk by the full length mirror There is that deep wonderful smile again.

It doesnt matter that I am normally in girl shorts panties and a well worked guy tee shirt. Life goes on and I like to work the garden, cars, boats and generally dirty stuff. That's part of me too. Dont want to mess up any of my girl treasures.

But as the LOreal girl says "BUT I AM WORTH IT"
My advice is not to look at the time you in boy mode and grumble, but look at the amazing time that the girl is loose and savor it!

As for the wife, try to engage her. Point out some pretty outfit and ask her opinion. If a conversation is not forthcoming, dont push it, but dont give up either. You need to show her and everyone (especially yourself) how happy you are when the femme side of you is shining.
Believe in your self!
Hugs

Wow Bobbi....  Are you sure your not a philosopher??  Great thoughts, thanks
Just spreading the gifts I have received in my travels.
Hope they help
Bobbi
PS I do love philosophy, but I lack the mental capacity to hold onto all the who said whats. Just the lessons stick... sometimes
